Has anyone played both and if so, which do you prefer and why?

It seems the KM is a little messy and actual the SSG has more powers/options.

The game you want to play is "Super Mission Force". Same author (Scott Pyle) as Super System.

Play is fast and yet is still detailed for playing your own characters or any Marvel or DC characters you want.

There is not a better Super Hero game out there by anyone then SMF!

I'm hearing SSG is a culmination of all his games. What does SMF have that SSG doesn't?

What little I've read is SMF has a bigger dice pool.

Knight Models Batman game (at versions 1 & 2 which I played a good bit of) was/is terrific. I was disappointed that KG chose to completely revamp the system with 3rd edition.

I ended up selling off my collection to a friend. I must point him towards SMF. He's been looking for a set of rules that's highly customizable for Super Hero gaming.

SMF is more streamline and character builds are far easier. Very east to create your own or any Marvel/DC character you want. Game play is also cleaner and floes seamlessly.

You won't regret going that direction, and PDF is readily available for download.
