If anyone is willing to test a set of 'fast play' divisional scale rules please PM me with an e-mail address so I can send you a copy. The rules are designed to be quick and dirty but period specific. The aim is to get a divisions worth of infantry plus supports on a table and get a result in about 2 hours. |

@ sabre, There are figure sizes in the rules, the depths are entirely irrelevant the frontages need to be in proportion. If asked to guess, your artillery may be on bases that are too narrow. I base my guns on as small a piece of card as possible for movement and then use simple card 'spacers' for deployed to fire; ditto skirmishers. I'm sure you'll manage. |

Mark, Cavalry in good going can go 152" which is 12' 8". I don't have 13' table to playtest the rules. I will read the rules and get back with you. John |

@ mumbasa, I play on a slightly less than 8x4 and it seems to work. The point, and I have personal experience in battle re-enactment of this, is that charging cavalry don't give you any warning, suddenly they're there and if you're not ready for them tough luck. In practice you don't need to measure unless you need to calculate 'roughly' if some skirmishers can get out of the way by rallying back or hiding in a wood. It does also mean that the charger doesn't get to make cruise missile like direction changes every 100 yards. |
