On Bank Holiday Monday (27th May) the Harrogate lads and I will be refighting the battles for the beaches in 20mm using Battlegroup rules. We're playing all five beaches at once, as one huge game (so German batteries can engage a number of beaches and Allied naval assets can support whichever beach needs help). For those familiar with Battlegroup it's 17,500 points in all. For those unfamiliar there are ten LCT models on table, 36 Shermans, 21 DUKWs, and so on. Lots of toys on 30 feet of tabletop.

The game will be held at Geek Retreat in Harrogate town centre from noon onwards and players or spectators are welcome. We've done mega-games like this before but not quite on this scale.

There are numerous photos uploaded by the particpants on the Battlegroup or Harrogate and Ripon District Wargamers Facebook pages.Live coverage isn't something that we considered – food for thought.
