Harrier ace Commander Sharkey Ward has died: link He was the pugnacious commander of a Harrier squadron during the 1982 Falklands Conflict. |

He seems like an amazing officer, pilot and leader, but he was not an ace, unless you are using "ace" for "top-notch." |

'Sharkey' was known as 'Mr Sea Harrier' and was the most respected Harrier pilot of the Falklands war. He will be remembered. |

I read Sea Harrier Over the Falklands many years ago. Very enjoyable read about his and his unit's experience leading up to and during the conflict. Sharkey came off as someone who was very cocksure in himself and his unit and their performance seemed to back up their belief. |
