I read Michael Crichton and Orson Scott Card as assigned authors in my high school English classes. It was great and it did help me learn. I teach history in the same school today. All the books in English classes are woke garbage with a political agenda |

Some modern sci Fi is definitely fantasy but with lasers (Star Wars is great fantasy but it isn't sci Fi). Crichton was hard science. I miss him writing. I frequently revisit his works. |

A lot of old sf was fantasy with rayguns. I think the only thing we read in school that could be called sf was 1984. |
