What is the oldest historical battle which you have played with miniatures on the tabletop? |

Do dinosaurs count as 'historical'? If so, 65 million years ago; if not, English Civil Wars, 1642. |

Old Kingdom Egyptian battles, Hebrew, Philistines and several other Bronze age battle. Do have a small collection for the caveman wars too but I wouldn't call them battles. |

Battles of the Trojan War. Outside of that I am not very interested in ancient gaming. |

Arbela, using so many 25mm figures that the game had to be played on a basketball court, with the Persian line measuring 20'. Played it several times over a period of years at OKC's WarCons in the 70's. Gawd, I'm a fossil…. TVA G |

Marathon? Hoplites stuff anyway. I have done some Egyptian chariot wars, but someone else ran them, so no idea which battle. We did do Homo Sapiens vs Neanderthals, but it wasn't a historical battle. |

I played in a Roman civil war game once. I mostly play 18th and 19th century games, but if someone is setting it up, I'll play. |

Megiddo, c.1457 BCE. This is the oldest battle in history recorded in any reliable detail. I've fought plenty of battles with armies dating back to Sumerian, but Megiddo is the oldest with actual historical details. |

Magnesia, I think. Like miniMo, I think Megiddo is the earliest battle you could meaningfully stage a refight of. I've got a small Canaanite force, so I guess I could give it a whirl with a friend who's got Egyptians (albeit the figures are more Ramesside than Thutmosid.) |

I am amazed, and delighted, no one has mentioned 'The Battle of the Sexes'! I will now go off and hide in a cupboard…!!! |
