Do you play these Napoleonic rules by Sam Mustafa?

* it is my main Napoleonics ruleset
* I don't play it any more
* I've never played it
* I have played it at least once
* I own it but haven't played it yet
* it is one of my favorite Napoleonics rulesets
* I play it from time to time
* I want to play it but can't find opponents
* I plan to buy it
* I've never heard of it

Don't own and never played. Just not much for roster games.

Yes. We quite enjoy the game and the sort of mini-campaign as a prelude included in the book..

No, but I have played LaSalle several times and it is an enjoyable game.

Yes we play games using Blucher rules regularly, we think they are very good set for playing larger actions in a reasonable time frame, cheers!

It's my main Napoleonic rule set.

I like the sweep in it, the idea that you are commanding Corps, not battalions.

I'd happily play lower level games, but I find with Blucher I am thinking about the Army as a whole, not is that battalion in the correct formation; that's what colonels are for.

Also it allows for different forces in the same army, without the idea Westphalilians, French, and Polish were all in the same division; you can have the historical order of battle.

The group play it from time to time – good rules for big battles

Martin Rapier24 Apr 2024 12:52 a.m. PST

I read it and I've watched a few games of it. Just doesn't appeal for some reason.

advocate24 Apr 2024 2:44 a.m. PST

Played it a couple of times.

Yes. Played it a few times and like it. A good system for playing entire battles.

Went over the top when it first came out and purchased all the different nation cards as they became available, plus card sleeves to protect them from continual washable pen use.

Had some great games with them. Waterloo and Leipzig amongst them. However, the button counters got bored with no buttons to count and moaned about the huge expense of all their figures staying in their boxes so interest waned.

Eventually players moved out of the area and that was all she wrote. Luckily, the card boxes don't take up as much room on the shelf as little metal men!

Really should dig them out and play some solo games but most of the time I forget I have them!

dantheman26 Apr 2024 5:16 p.m. PST

Trajanus,

I can relate! Of all the grand battle rulesets it is the easiest to set up and play. But too many think without column line square it isn't Napoleonics.

General Agreement29 Apr 2024 2:19 a.m. PST

Played a few times. No nearby opponents and I haven't cooked up a reasonable solo system. Plus I do like seeing squares and columns.
