I'm reading a Captain Future novel (Edmond Hamilton, 1945), and these guys would fit right in.

Helpful tip I learned from watching "The Space Giants" on WTBS many, many years ago: If you ever decide to try the trick of using flame behind the spaceship as "rocket exhaust", point the ship down, and light the flame so it goes upward away from the "engine nozzle," and then turn the camera sideways for "flight" pictures. Otherwise, the "rocket exhaust" curves upward and the ship looks silly. If you want to film it landing via rocket exhaust, have the landing "surface" be above the flame, and lower that onto the ship (use something flameproof, or be certain the flame is shorter than your ship's landing struts).

The other thing to do is mount the ship on a rod that comes out of the scenic space "backdrop." Anchor the backdrop so it can support the ship, then film from angles where the rod can't be seen. Voilá— "flying spaceship" with no visible means of support!

Keep ‘em coming…

Dang aliens blasted off too soon. Those space heroes need to work on their reaction time.

Thanks for the tip Parzival.

Maybe a pole to go from bunk room to rocket?

Thanks for the suggestion Stryderg.
