BBC ASK …

"The appeal is in collecting, assembling and painting the models, for play, which are manufactured in Nottingham (and Memphis, Tennessee) and sold through the Games Workshops chain and by mail order. Blood, torn flesh, grimacing skulls and very large guns and tanks feature prominently in the detailed artwork.

Wow, that'#s an old article – 2012 – and what do you know…it thinks WH40K is "wargaming".

I know the hook was "40k is 25 years old" but it is still annoying!

Certainly not "Historical Wargaming", unless that "40K is 25 years old" thing makes the game somehow 'historical' now. (if that's the case, I'm gonna start posting my Battle Masters revival gaming here too)

This is a good point 20THMAINE – (and it's worth more push-back me thinks)!

Sad when the general public's view of D & D still is the Tom Hanks movie in the 80's.
When asked about my hobby all I say is Military history. Only if I think they are interested do I go into detail.

My feelings are hurt if ANYTHING associated with Games Workshop is considered historical, even its' continued existence.
