The excellent Anyscale sent me a few pieces I needed to complete my Scottish fortified town – some wall sections & a ruined tower. To this tower, I added a floor from wooden sticks I had. There was a small gap in the walls, so I scratch-built a postern-gate on one side.

I cleaned, based & painted & dry brushed these and added them to the existing pieces, making a rather neat model, I think.

It looks rather grim which suits a place with a Covenanter garrison. Cold, wet, humourless & mouldy. And that's just the garrison.

I'd like to receive table-space on the table in our ECW gaming. The question is whether it should be simply 'eye-candy' or represent something important in the game.

I'm not sure. Could I build some siege works, with a few heavy artillery pieces & a line of gabions? Could our ECW armies try to fight there way to relieve the garrison? any other ideas?

Or maybe just 'eye-candy' after all.

Looks awesome. If you're able to replace a wall section with a breached wall section you could do a small assault scenario.

If that's on the table, it has to be a siege type game. It's definitely eye candy, but it needs to be a center piece of a game.

Definitely looks like a punishment posting…..

Put it at one end. Supplies are low and relief column is going along the table. Dastardly foe seeks to interdict from one long side and capture the supplies. Supply column have to get X supplies in to the post. Can sally if needed with associated risk etc., etc.

Wow! Reminds me of Dunluce Castle, to the west of the Giant's Causeway:
