I'm looking a finely sculpted 28-32mm shield maiden figure. Ideally with a tallish/thin, maybe elf-like build, but human, no pointy ears. Basically, sort of "believable" if not absolutely historical fig (if that makes sense), and not high fantasy or with 50 pound sword, etc.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

irishserb

Check the various ranges of adventurers for RPG games. Reaper or the old Ral Parthia ranges.

Bad Squiddo is the place to go for a wide variety of realistic female figures:

Thunderbolt Mountain had a lovely, slender Rus warrior woman, packaged with mounted and foot versions. They closed up several years ago, but the link now goes to Tom Meier Sculpting and design. They have an email address to contact Tom--it might be worth a try.
The figure may also be available through Ral Partha Legacy; at least they have a picture of it here: link
They seem to sell the mounted and dismounted figures separately.

I used Bad Squiddo for all my shield maidens.

Bad Squiddo is the obvious choice. Excellent figures, great range, exactly what you are looking for!

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll be checking into them this weekend.

FWIW, my shieldmaidens are from Gripping Beast. They're pretty believable-looking.

They're not tall, though, by the standards of modern "28"mm figures, which I consider a plus, but may be a minus for you.
