First of all, a huge thank you to all at the South London Warlords for putting on another outstanding show. The space looked even bigger than ever – presumably in a few years they'll be booking the whole of the South side of Excel? My unscientific appraisal suggested that the queue was rather bigger than last year but once they opened the "doors" everyone got inside very smoothly and very quickly. In my opinion, Excel is a superb venue. The many, many traders and games were well spread out so there was plenty of room to move – except around some of the very popular stands. It's amazing how quickly the thousands of attendees disperse around the hall.

As always, a huge range of traders; many of whom you will only see at Salute. The trend in the demonstration games seems to have shifted. There are fewer of the very large tables (although still quite a few including a beautiful ECW layout). There are now far more of the slightly smaller but wonderfully detailed games.

My only complaint; wargaming is supposed to be a hobby exclusively for stale, white, middle-aged males. What were all those women and children doing there???? Don't they realise the hobby is supposed to be in its death throes?

An excellent day out.
