I'm a bit tired of the ECW project (all that fighting, screaming, bloodshed – and that was just the group planning sessions), so I thought a gentlemanly game of SYW would be nice. The game was inspired by the Battle of Maxen, where a Prussian advance guard is in danger of being cut off by the wily Austrians. The game will simply be asking the Prussians to hold off the main Austrian force on the south, whilst brushing past the smaller Austrian force on the north. A game of this size was a bit ambitious for a mid-week slot & we didn't actually finish. My main body Austrians were pushed into slow-moving lines by a bit of clever aggressive posturing by their infantry & some sacrificial charges from a brigade of their cavalry: url=https://postimg.cc/mz80c81V] ‌ url=https://postimg.cc/gndYLB7q] ‌ On the northern front, the Prussians were bloodily assaulting the Hungarians & Croats but, alas, time was up before they opened a bolt-hole: url=https://postimg.cc/gwP91wPy] ‌ url=https://postimg.cc/qt9rJmnK] ‌ This is not to say we didn't enjoy ourselves.

We only had just over 2 hours & one of we three had never played AGW before so not surprising we only got to the "crunch". I think in about 3 weeks, on a Saturday, we could knock it over in 3+ hours.
