I'll admit. I'm ready and pretty excited for it.
Due to life, and health, and all sorts of other things going on, I haven't been in a few years, (seven of them to be exact), so I am looking forward to all of it.
HMGS always does a great job with this convention, and the base keeps growing.
There's a good vendor list, and the flea market is set up not to compete with the vendors, which I think works for everyone.
And games, over 200 of them.
I'm registered for four.
So if you see a guy on Fri-Sun, wandering around in a Confederate Gray Forage Cap,(and probably lugging a few bags of purchases), that'll be me.

Murphy, I'm in the same boat about it being a while since I have been to LW. I remember it as having a very high proportion of good looking games.

I'm looking forward to getting away for a few days.

I will probably be wandering around in a Kings Ropes ball cap, hopefully without too many purchases. Fall In last year was my first big convention in five years. I made up for lost time with both the dealers and flea market vendors.

Garryowen…
If you are there Thursday night, and you wander across the Thursday night "Snoopy vs the Red Baron Game", and see some guys wearing picklehaubes, that would be my friends and myself.

Was planning to go but then I didn't find many games that I was interested in playing so I decided to save my money for Historicon.

Grattan. What kind of games were you looking for?

Between family schedule conflicts and COVID, I've not been to Little Wars in many years. Looking forward to running my Punic Wars Hail Caesar game on Saturday. Both slots have sold out, so it should be a busy game.

Ran The Cid, that sounds great! I hope to wander by and see it going on!
Thank you for doing this!

I'll be there on Saturday; I haven't heard anything from my friends from Winnipeg though. I will be there with Grandson #2 as Grandson #1 is overseas with the Marine Corp presently.

I'm ready! Signed up for games on Friday and Sunday and ready to run my three Lion Rampant games on Saturday.

My afternoon and evening sessions filled up right away, but I'm wide open for my morning game is you are looking for a session. The morning game is The Lady Rides North and is a good old fashioned Saxon versus Viking grand melee.

Here's some previews: TMP link

I'm excited. I've never been to Little Wars and decided to give it a shot in lieu of Historicon this year.

Greetings my fellow gamers,

Back in September 2023, the planning began in earnest for this year. The months and weeks passed, with decisions being made and arrangements starting to be coordinated. Soon after the holidays we were at D minus 100. The tempo steadily increasing, (imagine "Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt). Then D minus 30, and then upon wake up today, we are 7 days away.

This my 9th Little Wars, while on the Board, and I had been a GM off and on since 1985. Deployments, kids and family taking their turns and interrupting my tenure. But I can honestly say that we have never been more prepared and ready for you. I know that once having said those words it may all go to pieces on first contact. But I do not believe it will.

Your Board has put together 4 days of gaming (with 260 games), shopping (24 vendors and 2 Flea Market sessions) and many other events to enjoy (see the list below). We have a record 34 volunteers on staff to assist you in your endeavors (thank you, to each and every one)

Have a great con and see you in the Gaming Hall.

Tom: I hope to see you there!

It is a really good regional convention. Not an HMGS-East convention in size and diversity, but big enough and diverse enough that you can have almost as good of gaming options without anywhere near the crowds. As a fellow midwesterner, I have been extremely happy this con has grown over the years, and appears to be very well run. It is probably worth the drive/flight for those closer to the east coast, and Chicago is a heck of a town to visit—the con is in the suburbs, but the particular suburb has a lot to offer in restaurants.

Saber6, it's been so long since I've seen you, I may not recognize you!

But I will probably have the only Kings cap.

I'm all set. Life has kept me busy since AdeptiCon so a break will be nice.

New location means new food stops.

KevinV13 Apr 2024 5:58 a.m. PST

Well Von Blucher- two Winnippers will be there. Kevin and my son Simon are making the drive. Simon has a few days leave so we speeding down. It's been 5 years, the Vid, work and family. I'll look for you Saturday.
Cheers
Kev

Kevin, it was great running into you and your son at Little Wars. It's been a long time since we've been in contact. Hopefully your ride back was safe.
