Sorry… my mistake with the choise of the forums… it has to be WW2 but it's too late…

Bruce Quarrie in the Airfix Napoleonic Rules had suggestions for technological advances in campaigns but warned against having Tiger tanks hiding in La Haye Saint.

By all accounts Napoleon was losing his personal Battle of/with the Bulge by 1815. Nice posting!

…not really…
like Asterix's village still living right in the middle of a foreign occupation the Ardennes were precisely among the last French Napoleonic places to surrender while there were 1 200 000 European coalised against France occupying the country with Louis XVIII in Paris and Napoleon in last exile to Saint Helena

citadel of Mezières until 3rd september 1815,
Sedan until 15th september,
Siege of Givet until 17th december 1815…

Apologies. My attempt at humour

I was referring to his waistline. He had grown quite heavy according to all contemporary accounts.

But your posting is really valuable and now Tango's message is well worthwhile here. thanks for that

My, my
In the Ardennes, Napoleon did surrender

I got the waistline – Battle with the Bulge – reference. I thought it was funny. One of those rare times when an emoji response option would be useful on TMP :~}
