You were asked – TMP link

Which are the five tabletop wargaming companies that are essential to your hobby enjoyment?

And in the final round of voting:

15% of the votes: Osprey
14%: Vallejo
12%: Old Glory
11%: Perry Brothers
9%: Wargame Vault

They would not be on my list.

Rino and Prusa would be on top of mine. Kallistra maybe.

Companies or Products?

Anyway, I would say Games Workshop. As a Company they have a complete product: models, rules, paint, tools, fiction, etc.

You can get rules from Osprey, models from the Perry's and paint from Vallejo. Gathering hobby essentials can almost be a second hobby.

Etsy and Badger Games

Its difficult to determine what is really essential.
If the five companies in the list didn't exist, you could probably get what you needed elsewhere.

Id probably say Crooked Dice; I am not a big spender there but their range is unique albeit very niche.

Im not into GW but if I were, they would be essential if you wanted to play their games.
Which they are well aware of!

I'm not sure you can have such a poll without Games Workshop. I buy something from them about once every ten or twenty years, but without them what would we *talk* about?

Also, Home Depot, Amazon, Michael's…

On the book side Osprey and Concord have been great sellers. Of course, I do sell my new PB books at $10. USD
Paints Apple Barrel unless the fantasy stuff is on sale. The thickness and coverage is good with this craft paint.
Miniatures Ares for pre-painted. Unpainted would be Old Glory or 19 Century.

I personally am still very very fond of Foundry figures!

8 posts and not 1 brewery or distillery. Inconceivable…

If you had included non-wargaming companies in the poll, I would have chosen… Harbor Freight, a tool company. LOL!

I use their foam floor mats for making terrain base mats; I use their disposable razor knives, with snap-off blades, for crafting, and cleaning up my miniatures; I bought a replacement moto-tool from them, which is indispensable for removing mold seams, and metal/plastic injection sprues from my miniatures, with a cut-off wheel (grinding bits quickly get clogged with metal, but a cut-off wheel just shrinks with usage, and it takes material off like nothing else!); I use various clamps from them, for terrain making, and to hold plastic figures, to straighten them, leaving them in their desired positions, within the clamp, for weeks/months, until the plastic 'remembers' the new position.

There are so many tools that I get from HF for my crafting…

I would also add Michael's Craft Stores, and Wal-Mart, to this list. They all supply me critically necessary tools and items for my crafting/modeling needs. Sorry, Bill, never thought about them until now. I suspect if we had them listed in the polls, they would have ranked pretty high. LOL!

Maybe you could run a non-wargaming store poll… Cheers!

The poll states clearly "Five TABLE TOP WAR GAMING companies" specifically????"

Not companies used?
I suppose I could then mention my utilities providers?
