In one of the more dramatic duels at sea during the Battle of the Atlantic, the U.S. Coast Guard cutter Spencer attacked, boarded, and sank a convoy-stalking U-boat.

I wondered if the movie, The Enemy Below, was inspired by this action, but Wikipedia says The Enemy Below had a historical precedence of the destroyer escort, USS Buckley, ramming a U-boat.
