A pretty cool find.

Very cool, indeed. The Romans got around! Wonder why the location was later abandoned, as it seems to have been occupied for several centuries.

Another link from that website is also pretty cool— the restoration work on a Roman cavalry officer's helmet circa 43 AD— the Claudian invasion!

Love this stuff!

Quite an astonishing find, because that archaeological site lays on the 'wrong' side of the Roman Limes or border.

I mean, in the region currently corresponding to Austria and Hungary, the Roman border always ran along the southern bank of Danube river; however, all of Slovakia lays on its northern bank – except for a tiny portion around Bratislava town.

Neither Slovakia's or Rimavská Sobota's own Wikipedia pages do mention an eventual Roman imprint in that country. Could this site be a Roman outpost in foreign territories? Or just a Roman-influenced Keltic or Germanic settlement?
