I guess lots of you write your wargames blurb in word. We do the fun stuff and the publishing stuff in word. To keep any formatting stable we send it out as a PDF using the PDF option in Word.
In one of our recent documents when converted to PDF using Word 10, in some of the tables the black lines separating the rows did not appear in the PDF. They were there in the Word file but not the PDF. I did the conversion a couple of times but it was the same. Anybody else have this issue and if so is there a fix?

My first guess would be to reformat the word table with cell borders – maybe a tad wider.

The easiest way of converting any Word document to PDF is to use the "print to PDF" option in the print function. Also works for web pages.

+1 MajorB. Also, there is a free app that works for that: Ilovepdf.com

MajorB we use Words own PDF generator. Yes theer are lots of free ones but I have yet to try them. Its a big job checking every table to see which if any fail.

MajorB we use Words own PDF generator.

Yes, that's why you have problems.

yes theer are lots of free ones

What I'm suggesting is not a "free one". It's built in Microsoft functionality.

MajorB Is there another Microsoft OPDF generator other than the one in Microsoft Office "Word"? as the One in Microsoft Office Word !) is the one we are having issues with.

When you attempt to print a document you are given printer options. Look for something that says, "Print to PDF". When you print you will be asked what to name the file and where to save it. Your file will be saved as a pdf instead of printed….

BTW: If you click the printer icon and your document prints without prompting you the above, use the hotkey <Ctrl P>. That will do what I described above.

If you don't want Word, there's always LibreOffice (free) that can also save/print to pdf…
