I am stuck in the bed and house recovering from losing a leg.
So I decided to dust off my files of completed works and WIPs.
After examining the current rates of production, I decided to explore ways to reduce production costs.
I have seen the current models and mechanics. After all I have been selling games, books and miniatures since 1983.

One concept was to include a limited edition game with a book on the game topic. For example, I am looking at a game to go with my Three Kingdoms Korea book, already completed. A similar situation on the The Creek War 1812-14. Book is completed and the game is in later design stages.

The back to the old days refer to my using an events chart matrix rather than cards.

Love to see the Creek War one – and have no problem with a matrix

The Creek War game will use the same mechanism as the Franco Chickasaw War of the 1700s. The main difference will be the time turn scale.

Both books are completed and in final edit. They were written in the 1990s and more information has popped up. Lol.

Hope your recovery goes well and looking forward to the books!

Rudy,

Sorry to hear about your medical issue.

Follow orders and rest and recover completely. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Dave

Are you going to update some old classics like ICE or FOF?

TimePortal16 Mar 2024 9:20 a.m. PST

Considered both.
The original FOF could be used with micro, and 15mm. So it will work for 10mm as well.
Even considered doing ICE in a board game block style but it can easily be re-edited now. The main issue will be converting to 28mm scale.

Matching up a book or article with a game is a good idea. S&T did something along those lines which encouraged me to try out different periods for gaming. A board game may be too expensive as the counters and large map is always an issue, but a set of figure game rules does make a lot of sense.

I considered my books as more of a primer to spark interest for the reader to do their own research. Not intended as a scholarly work.

I also include most Osprey and similar short books as primers.
