I finished a long delayed project of building and painting this set from Mantic Games. Come see the pretty pictures (and not so pretty ones) on my latest blog: link

Up next: Getting my fleet(s) wet in the game itself. (Well, not really wet. That would be a bad idea…)

I have about forty of the ship box sets for Armada. Planning to take them to Recon in Orlando Florida.

Very nice. All of these are available from Mantic as STL files btw. Been working on my elf fleet for Cabot two weeks.

These ships look to be inspired by Mongoose Publishing's books on various fantasy race's ships. They had some incredible stuff published in their long OOP books on Elven, Orcish, Dwarven, etc. ships. Note the hammer fist at the prow of the Orcish ship, used to smash enemy ships, as opposed to ramming them.

I plan to retire in around eight years. My goal is to sculpt ship models, and cast them in lead, in open face molds. I want to build them after the Mongoose designs, in something akin to 10mm scale. I hope to adapt 2e BattleSystem mass battles rules to the ships.

If I finish painting my miniatures before then, I hope to start on this dream before I retire: <200 figures in the fantasy queue; 500+ in the plastic Army Men queue, but they paint exceptionally fast. Time will tell

Thanks for sharing, and for inspiring me to pursue my dream. Cheers!
