As I have said before, my favorite Franco Prussian battle to refight. What rules system do you prefer? Do the French stand any chance whatsoever? Have you tried scenarios where the French 5th corps actually obeys its orders and marches to the sound of the guns? Thanks for sharing the photos too. |

I have done one game where a brigade of the French Guard marched to the sound of the guns. It was a hypothetical practice game. link The French won the first scenario of the battle. They have won a few more. It's how you adjust the victory conditions that balances it. However in part one of the battle the French just massacred the Bavarians. The Bavarians had a catastrophic morale failure. link The French won a decisive victory at Spicheren. link |
