I am enthusiastic about Peter's Paperboys.
After a lot of snipping I've got troops for the WSS, the SYW and the ACW. I always found the figures historically correct so far.
BUT: I cannot find a reliable source for the coats (and trousers) of Austrian officers and NCOs (infantry and cavalry) for the WSS in RED. Why are they coloured that way?
I am adding them to my collection nevertheless, although with some regret.

Do you have "The Imperial Infantry 1691-1714" by C.A. Sapherson? It says Carmine and Blue were popular for officers (page 5), and lists red coats for officers of several regiments (e.g., IR 1, IR 7, IR 15, IR 19, IR 20).

Austrian officers often wore red or blue coats. Most Austrian facing colors at the time were red or blue. Indeed, this was a common practice in the French army until the 1690s despite orders that officers were to wear coats in the same colors as the men.

Thank you both.
Unfortunately, I haven't even known about the Sapherson.
But why don't the standard works in German (Teuber/Ottenfeld, Karger) even mention those coloured coats?

The Robert Hall discs and text have all the information you would need on the Austrian army of the period and all sources are cited. You can get them from On Military Matters in the U.S. and Baccus 6 in the UK. I believe that you can get them in printed form from The Pike and Shot Society. Although I have used the term disc, I believe that they are now delivered by email for downloading.
