Gents,

Is there a single or multi volume book that covers all of the Anglo-Spanish War – 1585 to 1604?

There are plenty specifically on the story of the armada in 1588 but what about the entire conflict?…so much more was going on and Spain certainly didn't give up after 1588.

Your advice most welcome.

Thank you.

You should probably read The Spanish Armadas by Winston Graham. It's a single volume work on the naval war, covering all the Spanish armadas, the English counter armadas, and the desultory raids and fights in between. It isn't nearly deep or detailed enough, but it's a fine overview.

Looked about my library. The only book found I have near the subject is:
The Spanish Armadas by Winston Graham.

Deals with the four Spanish Armadas naval effort.

But there is Naval historian Drachinifel, who has made several Armadas podcasts. Use search feature on site by text "Spanish Armadas". One thing…he covers the English Armadas for example.

Thanks chaps,

All very helpful leads I shall pursue.

Seems like a gaping hole for a budding author to pursue!

Thanks again.

I picked this up in Kinsale, Ireland and it doesn't cover the whole war, but you may enjoy it.

Sounds like that emphasizes the naval campaign. What about operations of English land forces?
