Recently watched silence of The lambs for the first time.

Thought, I wonder if that's where Scully came from? FBI Chick fumbling with a gun in the dark against a monster dude.

Yep.

Now I'm thinking of evil earnie/Lady death and Baltor/six in the Battlestar Galactica reboot.

I haven't found confirmation yet, does anyone know?

They are both a man who is a trailer to their people (I'm guessing earnie is, as he looks dead and apparently kills people, though I haven't read the books yet), and have a rather overly attractive female lurking in their head who is pure evil (again, assuming with Lady death), and she gets them to kill people.

There are too many similarities there, possibly more, for coincidence. BSG mk 2 was 2003? Right around when Lady death was at or just over her peak, so sci Fi writers/comic nerds would have been well aware of her.

The RoboCop tv show also springs to mind, although the lady in Murphy's head was far from evil and onlybhelped him do good things. Otherwise a similar theme, especially as he is dead like earnie. As I believe earnie and Lady death are actually from the 80s/early 90s, this too is perhaps too coincidental???

Add to this, a bit full circle, and you have Never Again, the x files episode in which Jodie Foster (lambs) voices the hot chick tattoed on Scully's boyfriend, who, you guessed it, makes him kill people.

Solder (the outer limits) used helmets to tell the troops to kill, back in the 60s. Too bad.

Interesting stuff.

Very interesting. There is a TMP Plus Board for non-historical media. The movie board is probably the one you need. All the same very interesting stuff.

Thanks.

A link would help, as I couldn't find anything more appropriate than here, although movie reviews do pop up on the side from time to time.

It gets more interesting as I've now watched Hannibal, in which Clarice has now been put in the basement of the FBI and not being taken seriously.

I'll have to go back and look for the "I want to believe" poster, I'm sure it's there somewhere.

I suspect this is a case of full circle, with Lambs influencing The x files, influencing Hannibal.

Also, isn't Hannibal a lot like Pusher? Being able to persuade people to do things with his voice. I suspect Hannibal may drug also though.

Even her boss in Lambs reminded me of Skinner from the X files.

I did pick the end of Hannibal though, when they are hand cuffed with the meat cleaver. Yes, Robin hood prince of Thieves is one of my favourite films. The same gag is used at the start, about 9 years before Hannibal.
