Hi,

my last two Youtube videos, 100% Peter Pig (except some Minairons vehicles):
YouTube link (SCW Republicans)
YouTube link (SCW Nationalists)

Very nice! And all the weird armored cars are interesting.

I wasn't aware of the French unit with the Nationalists. I'll need to look into them.

Very well painted!!

About that of French volunteers on the Nationalist side, I wasn't aware either.

It seems that around 300-500 men enlisted in the Spanish Foreign Legion and formed a specific 'Bandera' or Battalion there ( link ).

Given their unit's small size, I'm pretty doubtful they were given any particular uniforms or official flag; so likely dressing as regular Legionaries, just as happened with Irish and White Russian volunteers. However, assigning special features to this unit does certainly add colour to the tabletop, so I applaud the author!

Just for comparison, about 10,000 to 15,000 French volunteered in the International Brigades, so being by far the most numerous foreign contingent in the Republican side.

As Lluis says, very nice painting. His link to the Bandera Jeanne d'Arc does suggest a different Bandera flag, though.

All I can say is wow! Incredibly well done Pierre/Martin! I love Peter Pig and have for a very long time (going all the time at back to that discontinued late medieval range).

My SCW project is in 10mm, I think I might have to watch this and pause it on the International Brigade when I paint my 10mm version. The use of so many shades of brown really captures the essence of what I want to accomplish.
