Howdy,

Did a playtest for my new game, Exploding Spaceships on Saturday (2/24). The game system, The Skirmish System, was used with So Convenient for Hewing. There is a Facebook page for those rules; search by title.

So Convenient for Hewing is available Print on Demand from TMP link lulu.com‌ for $24 USD. Again, search by title.

A few photos from the game below.

The Red Fleet raids a Blue system, and is met by the Blue Fleet defending. Ships are armed with Beams, or with Missiles; Beams can shoot 1 ft; missiles 3 ft. Limited ammunition for missiles. Units in this game represented divisions of ships. The clipboards are for tracking/matching ships to "black unknown" markers.

During battle the Blue Fleet lost more points of ships, but held the field. A victory for the Blue Fleet.

It was a fun game. More to come …

The title led me to expect something like this:

except with a spaceship, of course.

The actual post was good, though, and makes me want to look into the game itself.

LIC,

I don't follow how you got there. Not what I get when I search "So Convenient for Hewing" in Facebook.

Trying to find your game on FM just leads to me a million sewing sites….

Crispy,

What is FM?

I like the black spheres for unknown targets. Interesting game.

Can't suppress it any longer…

'Cap't, gravity waves!'

Scott: Absolutely!

You can also try something I saw in Full Thrust, where Jon used toy plastic golf balls painted black. The shadows in the dimples really suggest old school digital displays to me.

Sorry, Ponder, while it looks intriguing, paths to FB are lost on this curmudgeon.

Howdy,

A squadron action on the Schedule for Historicon, Thursday evening (7pm, IIRC).
