I think it's more of a role-playing game than a miniatures wargame, but it would make an interesting objective for maybe the Mongols. For some quick back-of-the-spreadsheet math, suppose an emperor of those times could be sexually active for 50 years. He's the emperor, after all, so he gets some advantages. At 365.25 days per year, that's about 18,263 days. Early in life, enjoying more than one wife or concubine per day would be easy enough, although it might get in the way of running the empire. Later in life, though, Chinese medicine advises against using up your chi by doing it too often. So maybe on average over his lifetime the emperor is with 1 or 2 a day. I don't think he's seeing any of them more than once, though, but, as the de facto emperor of a neighboring country noted in the middle of the last century, quantity has a quality all its own. |

I had thought the Chinese Harem was originated during the "Dong Dynasty". By its first Emperor, the famous or infamous: "Long Duk Dong". The dynasty finally ended due to too much inbreeding ,with its last emperor: "No Dong", I believe in 2069 BCE |

After archaeologist discovered and uncovered the tomb of the first sovereign emperor: "Long Duk Dong", they had a facial reconstruction of him performed. Those doing the reconstruction of the honored Emperor, attempted to make him look as close to modern times as is possible. Truly amazing. I doubt one could hold 16 Candles to their achievements.
