Just curious what you are using, for what type of models, and how expensive it is.

I mostly create bases and custom pieces for use in games so I use Sketchup, which is free. I know many folks use Blender for more complex shapes, which is also free.

Pros use Maya or 3D Studio Max or Mudbox or other expensive software to sculpt detailed characters.

There are also options like Poser or Character Creator which can get you good results for not too much cash.

I've used SketchUp before, before it became non-free, and I see there is a free online version now. Never became particularly comfortable with the interface. Maybe I'll give it another try.

I use Carrara Pro, admittedly a bit long in the tooth…but it works.

I've done a lot with TinkerCAD. I was learning Blender, but got distracted.

The new free version of Sketchup allows you to download directly in STL, which is a nice improvement. You can also store models on their model page under your account (they remain only for your use).

I learned the interface using youtube tutorials, though admittedly, they keep changing the interface with each update, meaning you have to relearn muscle memory.

I use MS 3D Builder. This is only for modifications to existing files or making bases and such. Occasionally even modifying a print. Also good for joining body parts such as arms and heads or assembly guns into a single file.

Me I use Rino which is expensive but good. Alex (AOTRS Shipyards) uses TurboCAD not as good but much cheaper. Both can save STL files for printing.

Rhino is my go-to as well for vehicles, buildings, and the like. I also have TurboCAD but wasn't entirely happy with it.

Nomad is on my iPad. It is good for sculpting figures, etc. Lots of good training videos online.

I think that Zbrush is considered one of the better options for creating models.
