In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Starguard!, I plan on re-working all the Starwar 2250 ships in order to get them to comply with the rules in the Starship supplement.

Here is the updated Federation Scout:

Total Mass: 112 (100 for game purposes because of built in systems)
Starwar/Starship Cost: 330
Warbots/Starguard Cost: 33,000
Command Bridge: 1
Crew: 1 (with space for up to 3 extra people)
Max. Vector: 8
Speed: 4 LYPH
Hex Tube: 1
Power Banks: 20
Engines (Unrepairable): 10
Structural Damage Available: 50

Special Damage Chart:
Engines = 1-59
Power Banks = 60-77
Command Bridge = 78-83
Hex Tube = 84-95
Null Compartment = 96-100

There is a 1 point deficit in total power requirements, so you would have to draw down power from the engines before firing the Hex missile.

Ah, Starguard. I spent many hours plotting ship designs. I still have some of My old McEwan figs in a box someplace.

But wow. 50 years.

Starguard automatically makes me think of the McEwan sci-fi skirmish game. Do you know which Starguard was first on the scene?

I remember the Starguard figures before the starships, but I could be wrong. They were a lot of fun

Yeah, the skirmish game came out in 1974, and is in it's 7th edition currently. The space game Star War 2250 came out in 1975. I tend to play the space game more than the ground pounder game since I like it for a solo space exploration game. It's still a fun game, no matter whether is skirmish on a planet, or on a ship in space, or even with big stompy robots.
