Nothing tells the story of a game or campaign with the same visual impact as a model of a wrecked AFV. When playing a campaign they are a telling way of reminding us what's happened on the table previously. I've been making a few and describe them here Wrecked AFVs

Very nice, I do a lot of 3D printing, one of the good and bad things is you build up a lot of misprints, which are great for scatter terrain.

Really nice – and I have a friend who has supplied me with some of his 3D misprints which with a little work make great terrain pieces as per Gunner Dunbar!

Excellent work, mate, and a good idea.

(Where did I put those spare models?)

Just love that MkIV and always glad to see all the hatches open. It suggests the crews might just have got out!

Thanks, that was what was appealing about this kit (from Dragon), it was possible to make it with all crew hatches either open or closed, so perfect for this particular job.

Perfect indeed. I do say "suggests" as it could have been repeated internal explosions blew the hatches open of course.

Is there a penetration hole anywhere on the MkIV? If not we will just assume it was abandoned and sabotaged by the crew, of course.

It is brilliant work and an effect I have long wanted to try. Have you ever tried adding some white dusting over the black, however daft that sounds? White ash might be very tricky to portray, but I am inspired by your posting now to experiment. I also know someone does Sherman tracks after the rubber has all been burned off….someone….
