There is absolutely NO legitimate reason to fight verification of a voters identity, short of planned shenanigans. I have to show a drivers license to vote. You can also show a utility bill with your name and address(I think this is ridiculous, as you could steal one from the trash, or obtain it in other ways). You should have to have a photo id to vote, you could get one when you register to vote. Yes there are some issues with this, but less issues than fake voters. No more mail in ballots, only verified absentee ballots. No more Covid excuses. Verifiers need to sit next to each other, no 6 foot or 10 foot distance. No votes after midnight, unless dated and time stamped prior to midnight. There are more necessary changes as well. We have to be able to trust our elections. Even in some 3rd world countries, a fingerprint is required and then you are marked as having voted.

Please don't try and tell me how safe our elections are. I give you Tammany Hall, Chicago under Daley, the Philadelphia machine…etc.

Where I live in California it is against the law to require ID to vote at a polling place, the polling workers will refuse to see your ID. You can just say you live there and you will get a ballot. In contrast, when I wanted to renew my Library Card the Library demanded a valid Photo ID AND a recent Utility Bill to prove I lived there and could use the Library. I asked why, they said they needed to make sure I was a local resident so I wouldn't abuse library privileges and they could get books back, and that it was unfair to check out books that residents should have first rights to.

Funny, eh?

The Chinese have entered US bases pretending to be tourists at least 100 times. I believe China is obsessed with spying and anybody who visits the US from there could be spying or have been forced to gather some sort of intel while visiting.
