Doc +1. That is the prime directive. Nine Pound +1 35th, I don't think you are cold here. It's all very frustrating. Pretty much everybody came here as immigrants and many of us keep close cultural ties to our original homelands. I have no problem with this, but now we need a system that makes security the top priority, then addresses access to citizenship. We need standards, regulations, laws that are clear and work in the field, supported by resources.
Once we have a working system, we can decide how we react to outside forces like refugee waves, not just get overrun. We are going to have to scrap some systems, simplify others, compromise, find common ground. All things we can still do if we think about something other than politics. If you believe that the border mess is a deliberate conspiracy, then none of this will work for you. |

Once we have a working system, we can decide how we react to outside forces like refugee waves, not just get overrun. But this isn't an "outside force" issue -- this continued mass immigration flow is being organized and managed via the UN, UNESCO and even our own USAID which has been funding NGOs like Doctors Without Borders and the Red Cross. This is as much an inside job as anything else. |
Tortorella | 13 Feb 2024 3:19 p.m. PST |
I agree! But any new regulatory system would have to be able to limit this as well. That has to be part of the long term reform. We must control the numbers based on what we can handle, and that is based on the resources we decide to allot. I am not sure which other countries are taking in these people, but nobody does what we do. These aid groups are responding to a massive crisis in numbers, an historic meltdown in these countries. But we cannot be the only ones who take responsibility. This is one of the things the UN was supposed to do. There are dozens of agencies trying to handle this. Get em organized. Get Mexico to stay focused and build more refugee centers, safe havens, patrol the border. Any solution will ultimately require that whole region getting help from multinational sources. We can chip in without carrying the entire burden. In the meantime, pass a freakin bill for @#$& sake, stop the politics. Get the new agents down there, draw down from other federal enforcement, whatever, start securing the border. This is a federal responsibility. If we keep falling apart we won't be able to help anybody. Then a logistical response, and a summit for surrounding nations, a UN resolution. Just do something. |

As long as the US has gov't sanctioned open borders with millions of illegal aliens including criminals of all types and terrorists. Coming across en mass almost every day now. The threat of an actual terrorist attack is very much increased. As our FBI Chief has said to Congress a week or so ago. But the border still remains open ? |

So one of the illegal aliens who was part of the gang that attacked the 2 NY cops, was just arrested again for robbery. "An illegal migrant teenager accused of attacking New York City cops in Times Square last month was arrested again Tuesday for alleging robbing a Macy's in Queens. Darwin Andres Gomez-Izquiel, 19, was one of four charged with robbery and petit larceny in a coordinated robbery alleged to "acting in concert" stealing clothes, the New York Post reported Wednesday. A 27-year-old security guard was reportedly punched in the face, suffering minor injuries, when he stopped the would-be thieves, according to police." And then this: "The sole migrant who had been held behind bars for the gang attack on two NYPD cops in Times Square is now also free after an activist Brooklyn priest posted his $15,000 USD bail, The Post has learned. Yohenry Brito, 24, who was being held at Rikers Island on the Jan. 27 cop attack and is due to be arraigned on an assault indictment this week, walked out of jail Tuesday after Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bay Ridge put up the money, the church's pastor said." This "#!!#"! Has got to stop! 1) he should never have been here. 2) he should have been deported after the police attack. 3) people should hold those posting bail like this accountable. Am I the only one who believes this horribly unacceptable and places is all in danger? |

Legion, IMO the government has not actually sanctioned open borders. It hasn't reacted to the reality of the situation. We have de facto open borders until we put some resources and new policy there. We are not trying hard enough, or at all. Neither political side will act. Neither candidate gets the long game. There will be short term fixes and hot air from the attention seeking missiles. It will take vision and patience, years of work, to create something that finds the sweet spot on protecting the country with law and order while not abandoning Lady Liberty. No 35th, every crime should get the attention and justice it deserves. But we need data..LEOs need to submit their annual reports. Crime data is critical to moving the needle on response. . I believe the anecdotes. But we have plenty of home grown crime, just beginning to settle a bit after the pandemic. We need to be able to show demographics on illegals and where they have driven up rates. I have a feeling this is the case, but it's easier to advocate if I know it. Any thoughts on this?
Unfortunately, we have effectively undermined policy change by claiming that federal agencies are not credible. If a talking head tells me that everyone at the FBI is lying, why should I believe illegal aliens caused crime rates to rise? So we pick and choose what to believe? This way lies madness…. |
35thOVI | 15 Feb 2024 7:44 a.m. PST |
Tort. But 1 crime by an illegal, is one that was unnecessary and could have been prevented. In the my last case, this one had attacked police officers, been arrested, released, and committed more crimes. No excuse for him not to have been on a plane out the day he committed that first. We also have Venezuelan gangs now combining with MS13. Most illegals currently are young single males, not families. We are not getting the best. |

High Tortella, how has your government NOT sanctioned open borders if Current Pres overturned every one of his predecessor's border policies as soon as he took office? Is it a coincidence that under his predessesor border crossings were historically low but now they're highest ever? Gee do you think there could be a slight link with the reversal in policy approach? (sarcasm) Or do you obediently "think" it was because of "climate change" like your masters want you believe? (not sarcasm, logic doesn't matter anymore to members of the cult of woke, of which you may be one, I don't know.) |
Legion 4 | 16 Feb 2024 2:23 p.m. PST |
Legion, IMO the government has not actually sanctioned open borders. It hasn't reacted to the reality of the situation. We have de facto open borders until we put some resources and new policy there. Disagree … Footage at the highest level of the US Gov't has many pushing the open border narrative. For a variety of reasons. I find it almost impossible that anyone in the US gov't does not know what is going on at the borders. They keep giving incentives to come here. Way too many Freebies … The Gov't has to know of the 1000s of fentanyl deaths in the USA. Guess these lives don't count ? And know that the PRC/CCP is giving those drugs to the cartels to bring across the US borders. The Gov't has to know about all the human trafficking that is going on. Guess those lives don't count ? The Gov't must know how these millions of illegal aliens are destroying Southern border towns and sanctuary states & cities. The Gov't must know about all the criminals of all types that have come across the borders. The Gov't must know about all the Military age males from all over the planet. Crossing the borders. The PRC/CCP has a huge number. They are not here to go to Disneyland. Most are here to spy, steal, etc. The Gov't has to know about the many terrorists and those that come from nations that support or have a large number of terrorists in their population. The CBP, ICE, LEOs etc. has told the new leadership don't change anything about how they are controlling the border. As they knew that they did have the border under positive control. How do I know this ? Just see the interviews with actual and former CBP, ICE, LEOs, etc. personnel. The current leadership chose to ignore the CBP's, ICE's, etc. advice. And I think most of us know why. The border could shut down within 24-48 hrs. If the order was given. And shortly afterwards mass deportations could be started. But among other things the current leadership is beholden to the open border types. For their support to campaign funds, etc. Plus, there seems to be a backroom movement to turn the US into a globalist socialist state, the USSA … Partly by with giving illegal aliens the right to vote in national elections. Conspiracy theory … maybe ? But there really is no reasons to allow millions of illegal aliens into the USA, the catch & release policy with little to no vetting, etc. What could possibly go wrong ? Whoa! No fair! All I am saying is that there has been no formal statutory change to create an actual unmanned open border. The issue is our failure to enforce the law along with sheer incompetence and negligence. We have no formal open border policy. |
| MilEFEX3030 | 16 Feb 2024 7:35 p.m. PST |
No, Tortella 1, you don't go on TV and state an executive order that literally leaves the border completely open, you do it with legalese most people won't bother reading to create the same effect: link |
Tortorella | 16 Feb 2024 8:36 p.m. PST |
Of course I agree with because you basically just said the same thing I did. We don't need any more laws. We need the POTUS and the Congress to provide enforcement resources, lock down the border, deal with the Illegals, make a plan for the future. And above all, enforce the law. The laws we do have are not being enforced. My whole point, over and over again is to first lock down and secure the border. But I am not wasting time chasing down a new law that you seem to say has relieved the federal government from its responsibility to defend the border. Because there isn't one. Our government is playing games not enforcing the actual existing laws. Nor is it able to pass legislation, authorize funds. Thus we have a de facto open border. It's a crisis than has been deliberately avoided, mishandled, and abused as a political tool. There are very few regular people in this country who do not want this solved ASAP. Congress just started another two week vacation. Legion, IMO there is not enough manpower right now to secure, process, deport etc. on this scale. We could declare martial law. The shadow Speaker is not going to allow any fixes. Since Congress refused to authorize more border agents,we could pull agents in other regions from Homeland,ATF, DEA, FBI, Justice , military police, etc.to literally hold the fort. Military is a last resort, but their police are excellent and they are already on the payroll. Executive orders needed, leadership. The biggest problem of all. Will not be solved in Nov. MilEf, I don't respond to personal attacks, save your breath. |
Legion 4 | 16 Feb 2024 10:25 p.m. PST |
Yes there could be enough manpower however, 40-50% of the CBP is being used to process thousands of illegal aliens a day. Air Marshals and Fed Prison Guards have also been sent to help the overwhelmed CPB. ICE is not allowed to do its job as they have orders by the Fed Gov't which limits their powers. The TX LEOs both local and state are also overwhelmed. The TX NG along a few other state's NG who have been sent to help have to physically stand guard to tell the illegal aliens they can't cross the wire, walls, etc. and enter the USA. TX has put large orange round buoys at certain places across the Rio Grande to force the illegal aliens to other locations where they can be incepted. TX has built an impenetrable wall with Connex containers and massive amounts of razor wire aka concertina wire. With the NG telling the illegal they must go back as they won't be allowed to cross into the US. TX's anti-illegal alien techniques has been reduced the crossings to about 20% along their border. Many of the illegal aliens have gone to AZ, NM and CA. To cross the borders there. There have been a few breaches of the Trump Wall. As cartel members with a chain saws, etc. Cut a hole in the wall. And illegal aliens flooded thru. Because there is still not enough of the various LEOs, etc. to stop that. Crews have repaired those holes. But like a minefield if it is not covered by fire. Its effectiveness is limited. Concertina and other devices had to be hung about 1/2 way down on those walls as some illegal aliens used ropes, etc. to scale those unguarded parts of these walls. As again not enough LEOs, etc. to guard those parts of the wall. But now with all the other measures TX has taken including welding the holes in the walls. As has been reported only 20% on the illegal aliens are crossing their border now. The rest have moved on to other states. Some in Gov't when the wall was purposed said that was medieval, etc. And high-tech devices should be used e.g. drones, etc. Well those high-tech devices can't physically stop or intercept illegal aliens. They can only surveil. The only way to do that is arm those drones, etc. but we don't kill unarmed civilians. I won't say innocent civilians as they are breaking the US law. As 85-90+ % don't qualify for asylum etc. Again the border could be shut down in short order. Along with all the LEOs, NG, etc. there, then deploy the US Army, place more connex containers and massive amounts of concertina, etc. The US Army knows how to shut down an open border. And simply turn all those illegal aliens back, has they can't cross the obstacles. Buy telling them to go back. By armed soldiers. The next time the cartel tries to cut a hole in the wall. Snipers would just shoot them. They would be dead before they hit the ground. The only thing stopping the border from being closed is the USA's leadership lacks the will and it does not fit their agenda. Of getting millions of illegal aliens in the USA then in Congress pass a law allowing them to vote in National elections. |
Tortorella | 17 Feb 2024 9:03 a.m. PST |
Agreed. I don't know about getting illegals the vote, but physically securing the border has to happen first. This wound will not heal until the bleeding stops. All of these measures won't work without overall leadership, the mission spelled out. These are the nuts and bolts once you can get leadership moving. I thought there was a chance with the concessions made for the bipartisan bill to give things at least a jump start. But nothing can get through Congress, which has now failed 6 of its own rule votes since last year, which I am sure is some kind of ugly record. The simplest things are held up. Whatever any of us think of the players in this mess, holding up aid to the border for a year to keep the campaign issue going is not much different than avoiding law enforcement. The people do not want this to keep dragging on even another year. To your point about the Army, POTUS in theory could order this. But I would make that a last resort, get the enforcement agencies to start shuffling personnel and get some more numbers down there under orders to deny illegal entry. And we need a big announcement that we are shutting down for repairs, don't try to enter, don't come. Seems unlikely but maybe the needle will finally move. |
Legion 4 | 17 Feb 2024 11:36 a.m. PST |
Yes, I do know we agree for the most part. But to my point about giving millions illegal aliens the right vote by "magically" making them American citizens. Appears to be the woke, progressive, rich, very vocal minority wants this to happen. In reality very few believe this has to do with being humanitarians. And yes, right now the US has a big leadership deficit. Those in charge are beholden to the rich progressive activists that contributes a lot of $ to their campaigns to get elected. E.g. the open border people and the Go Green cultists. Both of their agendas besides being unrealistic, is pretty much causing the destruction of America as we know it. "To fundamentally change Amercia." … The Army as a last resort, well it is a case of a last resort … with millions of illegal aliens crossing over the US borders. Many being criminals of all types and not here to become Americans. But to take advantage of the poor policies of US leadership. |
Tortorella | 17 Feb 2024 11:42 a.m. PST |
I am always afraid of putting the Army into any domestic confrontations, but here they would be opposing foreign nationals. However, they are civilians. ROE challenge maybe? I don't know. |
Legion 4 | 17 Feb 2024 8:48 p.m. PST |
Put up all the obstacles that work everywhere along the border. Guard entry points, etc., and close them tight. They can't get in if there is no way to enter. The USA has somewhere around 10-12 illegal aliens, many are military age males, many from China and nations that have terrorist problems as well as many from nations that have cartel/gang problems. They have to be priority i.e. the first to go. The USA does not need any more illegal aliens, there are already too many here now. The Army and their MBTs, IFVs etc., along with dismounted troops telling them to all go back. As the NG is doing now. But let the NG go back home. They have civilian jobs. Anyone trying to cross wearing cam to hide something, and it isn't good most likely. o clothing and somehow makes it passed the obstacles, etc. They should be shot as enemy combatants. They are trying to hide something and avoid capture. Anyone trying to cut a hole in the wall, as has happened before, Snipers, Riflemen, etc. should shoot them. One shot one kill … If the cartels think they could get a little aggressive … and they shot at the US troops. The troops should respond with over whelming firepower … If some civilians get killed. They shouldn't have been there anyway trying to illegally cross the border. That is CD … The cartels and gangs run Mexico, etc. but they are not the Mexican Gov't. The Mexican Gov't, etc. can complain to the UN, Hague, etc. If the Mexican Gov't would secure their own Southern Border. Much of this problem will be solved. The cartels and gangs should be considered terrorists as they have killed more Americans that AQ, ISIS, etc. put together. The gangs that have established themselves in the US have to handle by LEOs and if need be, with Military support. Sanctuary states and cities would have let ICE, etc. clean up the illegal aliens there. With the priority being the gangs. Any gang member, drug dealers or any other criminal caught should go to Gitmo as an enemy combatant. Sanctuary states or cities should be made illegal. As a threat to US security. And get no gov't support if they resist. I had two tours on the ROK's DMZ, with the 2ID and was with the 101 as part of the Panama Canal Zone defense force. Believe me the US military knows how to shut down a border or coastline. Of course, the woke, progressive, DEI, CRT/1619, etc. types will complain. They are doing it now … they don't know how to really get anything done but complain and divide us. |
Legion 4 | 18 Feb 2024 12:14 p.m. PST |
FWIW – much of what I posted above will pretty much never happen, especially now. But it has to be clear … no matter how much some deny it. The USA's #1 priority has to be with closing the border and start to deport as many illegal aliens as they can. Plus, something that has been ignored by our leaders for more social programs, funding illegal aliens, supporting social justice, woke, progressive narratives and agendas, etc. The Military needs to be fully funded to be rebuilt after 20+ years of war. In one of the most primate backward nations on the planet. As I have said many times before, is the US leadership's priorities are all very out of touch with the reality of the geopolitical situation. |

You are a soldier,Legion, I appreciate where you are coming from. You may remember when I suggested we get Mexico to let us send in special forces and hit the cartels. You did not think we could get away with this. Maybe the same here with shooting civilians. Anything from the DMZ that would help here? Given the other conflicts we are involved in I would want to be careful about killing civilians, not give our many critiques more PR ammo for other arenas. Also, how about a Gitmo 2 in Texas for any combatants we do catch? I think having a talk with a couple of them might be informative. |

@Legion4 "Anyone trying to cut a hole in the wall, as has happened before, Snipers, Riflemen, etc. should shoot them. One shot one kill …" I love your train of thought here! Same for anyone trying to dig a tunnel. I think historically North Korean small units still managed to infiltrate across the DMZ to the South from time to time? Did they do it with tunnels or on the coasts in small boats? You should really be an advisor down there with your experience. Still the administration wouldn't allow your common sense tactics I guess. Maybe after November, put in an application? |

Some pertinent information You can observe the extensive increase after the 2020 election Subject: US Immigration & Border Security Statistics and Data Trends: Foreign-born population, naturalizations and more | USAFacts link Yes the POTUS did much to enable this situation, from the very beginning. Subject: The List: 64 Ways Joe Biden Opened America's Borders to the World's Migrants link There is a rumor that he may be coming out either before or on March 7, that he will issue new executive orders overriding his previous executive orders in an attempt to slow the border crossings. In order to claim he was the only one who has done anything to control the border. I hope people are smart enough to see this for what it is, if he does Lastly, it looks like the House is trying to bring their own solution forward. @Tort Of course I agree with because you basically just said the same thing I did. We don't need any more laws. We need the POTUS and the Congress to provide enforcement resources, lock down the border, deal with the Illegals, make a plan for the future. And above all, enforce the law. The people in charge are not stupid -- surely they *know* the likely consequences of their decision to actively stop enforcing the law, and to steer resources away from security and to "intake" of mass flows of illegal aliens. Surely they know, since they control it, that USAID has been helping organize and fund the mass migration. Surely they know, since they fund it, that UNESCO is helping organize and manage the mass migration. So they KNOW what they are doing. You need to ask WHY? Why are they doing this, what outcome are they trying to get? |
Tortorella | 20 Feb 2024 10:35 a.m. PST |
Well, they are all on vacation now. And they must seek approval from the elephant in the room. But maybe they can squeeze it into their hectic schedule. I think Biden made a shambles of border security, as did this Brietbart opinion piece. No context. The issue here is that this is a piece about Biden first, the border second. We get it,I already knew what Brietbart would say. am never sure if I am learning anything from the far left or far right. It would be an amazing gift to America to pass a compromise bill, just once this year. It's little enough to ask at this point. |
Legion 4 | 20 Feb 2024 10:43 a.m. PST |
I think historically North Korean small units still managed to infiltrate across the DMZ to the South from time to time? Did they do it with tunnels or on the coasts in small boats? During my 22 months, '84-'85 in country in the ROK. With 2 tours on the DMZ. The US Army & ROKs had found 3 tunnels under the DMZ. One at least big enough for tanks. I had heard from another US Army Officer who was there, in 2014 about 27 tunnels have been ID'd by the US Army & ROKs. Small groups of North Koreans had tried to cross the DMZ. But while my time in the ROK. Our and the ROK's patrols found none. And we had a lot of active patrolling. I would go at night out with my Support Plt's sandbagged trucks inserting our patrols into our area of responsibility. We were pack'n heavy for bear … But again no joy … Maybe they figured out they were not going to get passed those "crazy, blood thirsty Americans." … At the time I was in the ROK every so often the North would try to land small teams on the South's coasts. Maybe 5-6 a year. They were quickly intercepted by the ROKs. If they were not kill by the ROKs. They committed suicide. Saw the photos at briefing, it was not pretty … but they were dead Norks … we were not upset. Looked like a good body count … You should really be an advisor down there with your experience. Still the administration wouldn't allow your common sense tactics I guess. Well thank you … Well, I was not the only US Army "Grunt" that knew how to shut down a border, etc. We were all a pretty well-trained aggressive force prepped to engage the enemy, if need be, whoever they were. That was our duty, our job … But today those in charge don't want to close the border. It does not fit their plans, narrative, agenda, etc. As we see almost daily … You are a soldier,Legion, I appreciate where you are coming from. You may remember when I suggested we get Mexico to let us send in special forces and hit the cartels. You did not think we could get away with this. Yes, we'd be better hitting cartel, gangs, drug supply locations with drones, TLAMs, etc. But Mexico would say we declared war on them. So that in a NO-GO. Oh BTW … we may have SF/Spec Op teams, CIA, etc. already doing recons to locate the "bad guys" and where they are ? Of course, we have eyes in the sky that can do similar … Why take risk of boots on the ground, even if they are only a few in number … Maybe the same here with shooting civilians. We would not shoot civilians only members of the cartels cutting holes in the border wall, etc. If they cross the border wearing camo, trying to avoid capture. They should be designated as enemy combatants. WE don't know what they are carrying, or what their intentions are. If they are on side do the border they would be legitimate targets. Again, how many Americans will be killed by the Chinese supplied drugs ? That the camo'd invaders may be carrying. We don't know what they have or what damage it will do. So again, our motto that our 3d Bn Cdr in the ROK gave us, "One Shot, One Kill" … Anything from the DMZ that would help here? Given the other conflicts we are involved in I would want to be careful about killing civilians, Yes, as I said, what we did on the DMZ and how to do things. Again, we don't target civilians, only those camo'd invaders. But again, we don't let anyone cross our defenses. We don't shoot civilians only tell them to turn around and go back … Some may drown, but the US Military will not let our troops try to save them. One NG LT tried to save two illegal aliens, one male & one female, struggling to cross the Reo Grande. He drowned … they made it across and were carrying drugs. One good man died for two criminals. not give our many critiques more PR ammo for other arenas. So defending our border is controversial ? Those that want to criticize the US will regardless. Again, we are not targeting civilians. Only camo'd intruders that probably mean us harm or cartel members trying to cut a hole in the wall. Also, how about a Gitmo 2 in Texas for any combatants we do catch? I think having a talk with a couple of them might be informative. I'm sure that could be useful even if some in Congress and elsewhere would call us Nazis and those concentration camps. But they illegally crossed our borders they are criminals. However, now with the Gov't sanctioned flawed "catch & release" policies. I don't know if any of these illegal aliens are really being properly interrogated ? But from what I can tell we pretty much know why they are crossing our borders. And as we see we have caught many more on the terrorist watch list than ever before. We pretty much know what their intent. They can't be trusted. Again, how many were got-aways? It only takes a few to kill many Americans. The entire concept comes down to protecting Americans "from enemies foreign and domestic". That was part of the oath, and that I gave a number of times … |
| SBminisguy | 20 Feb 2024 11:05 a.m. PST |
Is this the plan?? Biden issued Executive Order 13986 that directs the US Census Bureau to count illegal aliens for Congressional Apportionment: Executive Order on Ensuring a Lawful and Accurate Enumeration and Apportionment Pursuant to the Decennial Census…Sec 3. Ensuring that the Apportionment Base and State-Level Tabulations Include All Inhabitants of Each State. In preparing the report to the President required under section 141(b) of title 13, United States Code, the Secretary shall report the tabulation of total population by State that reflects the whole number of persons whose usual residence was in each State as of the designated census date in section 141(a) of title 13, United States Code, without regard to immigration status. link So looks like Democrats once again want to count non-Citizens towards Congressional Apportionment….who'd have thought it, eh? |
Tortorella | 20 Feb 2024 11:18 a.m. PST |
I don't remember hearing anything about the legal precedents for this in the past. Even if true, it sounds pretty lame. Maybe, and I mean maybe, if someone is well into the system, vetted, and on the road to citizenship, he could be granted voting privileges. Otherwise, gangs of foreigners could come here on vacation, vote, and go home. I had never seen this before, looks like some leftist agenda they made Biden agree to. Like the right, the left has two wings,IMO. Outrageous. |
| SBminisguy | 20 Feb 2024 12:19 p.m. PST |
I don't remember hearing anything about the legal precedents for this in the past. Even if true, it sounds pretty lame. Ever heard of the 3/5ths Clause? The Southern States wanted to count all of their Slaves for Congressional Apportionment, and the Northern States objected on the grounds that Slaves were not citizens and did not have the rights of citizens and therefore the almost 1,000,000 people held in slavery should not be counted for determining Congressional Seats. The 3/5ths Clause was the compromise required to get their support for the Constitution. As US politics evolved and the Democrat Party was born it fully supported counting non-Citizens for Congressional Apportionment. There were 4,000,000 slaves in 1860, which gave the Democrats another 20 seats in Congress. Seems they're back at it again…except they want a full body count this time which would give the Democrats potentially one new Seat in Congress per 750,000 illegal aliens. Some 4 MILLION illegal aliens have been hustled into the US under Biden, which is another 5 seats in a closely divided House. When you add the 15-20 Million illegals already here this represents another 27-30 seats in Congress. |

Because it is Breitbart, does not make it wrong. Executive orders Day 1 (the ones affecting the border. I've attached the link to this and many others. Pay attention to the one on the census and border wall. Of course there have been many, many more, including all the taxpayer paid giveaway programs to "migrants" Just a few from this article NBC news "Jan. 25, 2021, 3:36 PM EST / Updated Jan. 28, 2021, 2:43 PM EST By Elizabeth Janowski In his first days in office, President Joe Biden moved to dismantle a slew of Trump-era regulations and make sweeping measures to bolster the nation's Covid-19 response. Memorandum freezing approval of rules passed in final days of Trump presidency According to Biden's memorandum, all new and pending rules passed in the last days of Trump's tenure will be reviewed by department and agency heads. Proclamation ending ban on U.S. entry from majority-Muslim countries Biden's proclamation reversed Trump's policy that barred entry to the U.S. for refugees and residents from seven predominantly Muslim countries and orders plans within 45 days for resuming visa processing. Executive order revising immigration enforcement policies Revoking a Trump-era policy that cracked down on communities shielding undocumented immigrants from deportation, Biden vowed to "protect national and border security" and "address the humanitarian challenges at the southern border." Executive order incorporating undocumented immigrants into census Undocumented immigrants will be counted in the national decennial population count, according to Biden's order, which overturned Trump's attempt to exclude them during the 2020 census. Proclamation pulling funds from border wall Biden terminated the construction and funding of the wall at U.S. southern border a key promise of the Trump administration that has drawn backlash for its environmental impacts and is being litigated at the Supreme Court for the allegedly improper use of funds. Memorandum reinstating deferred enforced departure for Liberians Biden's memorandum blocked the deportation of Liberian refugees living in the U.S., reinstating the deferment of their enforced departure granted by the Bush and Obama administrations. Memorandum strengthening Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Biden reaffirmed DACA, an Obama-era program that Trump had long sought to dismantle that shielded undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children from deportation." Just posted. Keep in mind, this is intercepted. What about got aways and unknown? "7.2M illegals entered the US under Biden admin, an amount greater than population of 36 states The total number of illegal immigrants who have entered the US under President Biden is larger than almost every American city" And more today: "More than 200 Chinese migrants are stopped in a SINGLE DAY by Border Patrol in San Diego – with almost 500 arriving at the flooded sector in three days" We know they did not walk across the ocean to get to Mexico. Saw a Fox News reporter ask a group there where they were from. All but one responded: China. The lone non Chinese… Georgia (republic, not state). |

I saw that too … The Gov't can talk about this all they want, however … the answer/solution is again shut the border down tight. And start mass deportation. Millions of illegal aliens are doing very little good for America. Including terrorists, criminals of all types, drugs, sex trafficking, etc. Even those just looking for work won't qualify for asylum. |

Roman historian and satirist Sallust describes how Rome built an extensive national security state to defeat Carthage, its mortal great power enemy. The existential threat of Carthage was the unifying focus for the Roman national security state and state bureaucracy and kept them "moral." But with the threat of Carthage gone, greedy power-hungry people turned the security state against Rome itself. As Sallust describes: "when Carthage, the rival to Roman power, had been eradicated… Fortune began to grow cruel and confuse everything… at first, greed for money grew, then greed for power…Ambition forced many men to become liars, to hide one thing in their heart and have something else ready on their tongue…when this contagion invaded like a plague, the state changed." (Conspiracy of Catiline, 10) Sounds familiar. Most of America's Cold War security and administrative state should have faded away in the 1990s. No more Soviet Union, no more need for all the tools needed to wage the Cold War… |

Huh -- here's a Democrat who said the quiet part out loud, that she needs illegal aliens in her District to help with redistricting… NY Congresswoman Clarke (D) saying the quiet part out loud about the border and illegal immigration:
"I need more people in my district just for redistricting purposes." link |

SB history repeating is alway nebulous, but yes, one can see many similarities. "Bread and Circuses" being one of the most obvious, with every new "give away" of taxpayers money. Just look at the promise of student loan bailouts as one example. Make a group dependent upon your party for their livelihood, and their votes are yours forever. Unless they realize what you are doing to them, and break the chains of dependence. |

I ask: Why would one not illegally come to the US, with the amount of giveaways to them, from the US taxpayers backs? This of course does not include the cost of putting them up in hotels, etc.. Free medical, free education, free school meals. Oh well, you get the point. Why not come and Why work? Just some examples. Just what might be done with millions of illegal immigrants beholding to those who allowed them in. Sounds a lot like another Republic in History. It used to be if they served in the US Military, they could become a US citizen at the end of their enlistment. But can these illegal aliens pass all the tests both physically and mentally to get in the US Military? Do they speak & read English ? Can they pass a back grown check ? Are they from countries that have a terrorist's problem ? What if they are from China ? Would they still be allowed to join ? Again, a case of the lack of knowledge of history. Those that don't study history are bound to repeat in. |

Just 2 examples of the cost to we the taxpayers for the open border. This is or money and our children and grandchildren's debt. Remember too, we now pay more on interest on our debt (much of it to China) than on our own military. (Are the interest payments paying for the modernization of Chinas military? Of course.). These are not "migrants", they are "illegals". Changing the words does not make it any less a criminal act. $31 USD for dinner That's a decent Steak dinner in many restaurants! But given how corrupt government contracts are I would bet the politically connected food concessionaire who got the sole-source no-bid contract serves canned beef stew with some canned green beans and a soggy dinner roll that costs them $0.50 USD per meal…and they pocket the rest. |

SB I've seen news accounts of a lot food being thrown out by the "migrants" and cooking their own native foods in their rooms. But none of these expenses were ever necessary. I know some think: "Well your ancestors came as "migrants"". Yes they did. But they did not come "illegally". My first came over indentured to the man who paid for his place on a ship. He learned blacksmithing from the man. Eventually living on land given to he and his wife on the frontier of North Carolina by his wife's father. He worked as a blacksmith and farmer. 2 of his sons served in NC regiments in the Revolutionary War. Captured at Charlestown. One later joined Lee's Legion and fought at Eutaw Springs. The original was not the recipient of taxpayer money. Most "migrants" prior to recent years, came to this country and earned their way. Succeeded or failed on their own. No free medical, no free meals, no free housing in hotels..,. I've said over and over. I have no issues with legal immigration. None. I have issues with "illegal" migrations, especially paid for by working taxpayers. |

Why not just tell the Mexican government that either they get the cartels and the border states under control- or we will? |

Thanks OVI ! I'm old and make errors frequently …
Why not just tell the Mexican government that either they get the cartels and the border states under control- or we will? If we only could. As I have said before, use drones and TLAMs to hit cartel leaders, structures dealing anything with the cartels and gangs, etc. And yes, there will be limited CD. But Mexico is not run by the gov't but cartels and gangs. Any attacks we'd do would be considered an act of war, would upset the UN, a lot of woke, libs, progressives, etc., etc. in the US would not like the "American Imperialists". |

Any attacks we'd do would be considered an act of war, would upset the UN, a lot of woke, libs, progressives, etc., etc. in the US would not like the "American Imperialists". We've basically been in this situation before in 1916 when the violence from another Mexican revolution spilled over into the US and Mexico had no governing authority over the US-Mexico border. Gangsters like Pancho Villa ran rampant, kidnapping, killing and robbing across the border into the US. The last straw was a raid by Villa into the US that killed 16 Americans, so the US sent a military expedition to try and restore order to the border and break Pancho Villa's power. We may have to do that again… |
Legion 4 | 23 Feb 2024 11:13 a.m. PST |
Nine Pound +1 Yes that is the problem, everyone knows the top US leaders are risk-adverse and fear escalation. And wants/needs to be in the good graces of the UN, etc. Our enemies already know what this leadership will do … in case as many others for the most part nothing, 0. SB +1 We may have to do that again… I'm don't think a ground invasion is not needed. And could be costly. Plus, the well-armed cartels and gangs could end up fighting a guerilla war. As well as some other locals could join in e.g. be the fifth column. We know that is not what we want to engage in at this time[if ever?]. What about the Mex Military ? Would they ally themselves with the cartels or will there be a three-way conflict ? Or maybe they will join us cleansing their failed nation. Of the cartels and gangs. So, as I said, use drones and TLAMs and maybe air strikes would be my choice. Many in the world and even in DC there will be "wringing hands and gnashing of teeth." … And everyone knows or should, the first strikes on cartel and gang leaders' homes, etc. will kill their families. Yes, collateral damage again. If this option was taken it would be the "cost of doing business". Us or them … as always if it come down to that … my choice is us … |

Where I live in Australia is so woke these days I'm either going to go to Mexico, throw my passport into a river and line up undocumented at the US border to get to Florida or teach English in Russia. The only things I'll say in the US border scenario is "No English, me Apeman from Planet of Apes." If they ask for more information I'll say "Me, Apeman have right to remain silent in you jurisdiction." These days that should be about enough to bluff my way through and get a few freebies/debit cards along the way. Go Ape! |
