Hey guys, through my research of the First Schleswig War I've been interested in refighting the conflict in and around Ulderup on 6 April 1849. While finding the force disposition for the Danes is pretty clearly the Danish 1st Brigade with some units of the 2nd Bde joining in at the tail end, I'm having trouble finding info on the Confederate forces present. I know the Bavarian Bde served as a reserve (as the Danish record I've read mentions) and Hannover seemed to spearhead the attack, but the source I've used claims that there were also Saxons and, strangely, Badenese and Wurttemburgers??? Does anyone have any records they could give me that could corroborate or correct the Danish narrative? Thanks guys!

I have the complete Danish General Staff's account of the war – I'll have to check what they say.

I also have 3 German accounts. I'll look at all of them tomorrow and get back to you.

If you are interested, i can mail you pdf copies of the Danish general staff pages, which you can put through google translate.
However in the description there are only Hannoverian units, and a Braunschwieg battaliom And a Hanseatig squadron.
Alle the others were in reserve and not participating.

@hornblaeser that would be awesome, my email is SchiltPetroleur@gmail.com

@ Swampking, thanks, I'll be looking forward to your research!

I appreciate both of you for taking your time to help somebody new to the conflict like me :)

Hornblaeser is correct. When I find it, if you want, I can try to scan in the map of the battle from the Danish General Staff.

I've yet to sit down with the German accounts but planning on doing it tomorrow.

Frankly, I'd plan on the German force just being the Hanoverians and the one Braunschweig battalion.

I have just found from "Militärgeschichtliches Handbuch Baden-Württemberg" that two battalions, one from Wurttemburg and one from Baden, along with a battery of Hesse-Darmstadt, participated as a reserve for the battle. The guy who showed this to me also claims that a battalion of Hessian guards and two companies of SH Jagers were present, but I'll try to ask for/find the source he references.
