Just painting up the Derbyshire Blues but, while I have info on the uniform, I have none on the Standards carried. Any other info on other English Militia & Volunteer units would be greatly appreciated, as would info on English Jacobite units.

Slàinte!

I have given my English Noblemen's Regiments a Regimental colour in their facing colour with the Coat of Arms of the nobleman who was their Colonel. I based this principle on the description of the colours of the Cumberland & Westmorland Militia, as described in the article "English Militia Regiments" by Maj H G Parkin in the Winter 1936 Volume of Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research. They had red facings and their flag is described as red with the Crest and Cypher of Sir James Lowther, who was their Colonel.

I have assumed that town based volunteer Regiments, such as the Liverpool Blues" had a flag in their facing colour with the town or city Coat of Arms on it.

The Jacobite Manchester Regiment are said the have carried a white flag with a red St George's cross on it and the mottos "Liberty" and "Property" on one side and "Church" and "Country" on the other.
