From 2018 when Walz was running for Governor:

Tim Walz has embellished and selectively omitted facts and circumstances of his military career for years.

We, retired Command Sergeants Major of the Minnesota National Guard, feel it is our duty and responsibility to bring forth the truth as we know it concerning his service record. So, we have put together a timeline of his service post 9/11. To the best of our knowledge, this information is completely true, having been verified by all those who served in positions with first hand knowledge of the facts and circumstances of his service and departure from the Minnesota National Guard. Many of the dates and time frames are from his official discharge document and the reduction order reducing him to Master Sergeant.

On September 18th, 2001 Tim Walz reenlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard for six years.

In early 2003 he was selected to attend the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. The non-resident course consists of two years of correspondence coursework, followed by a two-week resident phase at Fort Bliss, Texas. When a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer accepts enrollment in the course, they accept three stipulations. First, they will serve for two years after graduation from the academy, or promotion to Sergeant Major or Command Sergeant Major, whichever is later. Second, if they fail the course they may be separated from the military. Third, they will complete the course or be reduced to Master Sergeant without board action. Senior Non-Commissioned Officers initial and sign a Statement of Agreement and Certification upon enrollment. The State Command Sergeant Major or Army National Guard Command Sergeant Major counsels the soldier and certifies that the senior Non-Commissioned Officer understands their responsibilities. These stipulations are put in place because the academy is a college level school, the military invests a lot of taxpayer money in the student. The military needs to ensure they will get the return on investment that the taxpayers deserve.

In late summer of 2003, First Sergeant Walz deployed with the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Italy. The mission was to augment United States Air Force Europe Security Forces doing base security for six months. In no way were the units or Soldiers of the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion replacing any units or military forces so they could deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan.

After the units return to Minnesota in the spring of 2004, he was selected by high level Command Sergeants Major to serve in the position of the Command Sergeant Major of the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion.

On August 5th, 2004 he was photographed holding a sign at a protest outside a President Bush campaign rally in southern Minnesota.

On September 17th, 2004 he was conditionally promoted to Command Sergeant Major. The conditions had been outlined to him when he was counseled and he signed the Statement of Agreement and Certification. If the conditions are not met, the promotion is null and void, like it never happened.

In early 2005, a warning order was issued to the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion, which included the position he was serving in, to prepare to be mobilized for active duty for a deployment to Iraq.

On May 16th, 2005 he quit, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war. His excuse to other leaders was that he needed to retire in order to run for congress. Which is false, according to a Department of Defense Directive, he could have run and requested permission from the Secretary of Defense before entering active duty; as many reservists have. If he had retired normally and respectfully, you would think he would have ensured his retirement documents were correctly filled out and signed, and that he would have ensured he was reduced to Master Sergeant for dropping out of the academy. Instead he waited for the paperwork to catch up to him. His official retirement document states, SOLDIER NOT AVAILABLE FOR SIGNATURE.

On September 10th, 2005 conditionally promoted Command Sergeant Major Walz was reduced to Master Sergeant. It took a while for the system to catch up to him as it was uncharted territory, literally no one quits in the position he was in, or drops out of the academy. Except him.

In November of 2005, while the battalion trained for war at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, it received an offer from retired Master Sergeant Walz. He offered to fund raise for the battalions bus trip home over Christmas that year.

The 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion was deployed for 22 months in 2006 – 2007. During this time, they were restricted by Army regulations and could not speak out against a candidate for office. In November 2006 he was elected to the House of Representatives. He claims to be the highest-ranking enlisted service member ever to serve in congress. Even though he was conditionally promoted to Command Sergeant Major less than eight months, quit before his obligations were met, and was reduced to Master Sergeant for retirement. Yes, he served at that rank, but was never qualified at that rank, and will receive retirement benefits at one rank below. You be the judge.

On November 1st, 2006, Tom Hagen, Iraq War Veteran, wrote a letter to the editor of the Winona Daily News. Here are a couple of sentences from the letter: But even more disturbing is the fact that Walz quickly retired after learning that his unit -southern Minnesota's 1-125 FA Battalion – would be sent to Iraq. For Tim Walz to abandon his fellow soldiers and quit when they needed experienced leadership most is disheartening.

Here is part of Tim Walzs response: After completing 20 years of service in 2001, I re-enlisted to serve our country for an additional four years following Sept. 11 and retired the year before my battalion was deployed to Iraq in order to run for Congress.

According to his official Report of Separation and Record of Service, he re-enlisted for six years on September 18th, 2001. However, in his response he says that he re-enlisted for four years, conveniently retiring a year before his battalion was deployed to Iraq. Even if he had re-enlisted for four years following Sept.11, his retirement date would have been September 18th, 2005. Why then did he "retire" on May 16th, 2005, before his supposed four-year enlistment was up? And he makes it sound like he "retired" a year before his battalion deployed to Iraq; when in reality he knew when he "retired" that the battalion would be deployed to Iraq.

The bottom line in all of this is gut wrenching and sad to explain. When the nation called, he quit. He failed to complete the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He failed to serve for two years following completion of the academy, which he dropped out of. He failed to serve two years after the conditional promotion to Command Sergeant Major. He failed to fulfill the full six years of the enlistment he signed on September 18th, 2001. He failed his country. He failed his state. He failed the Minnesota Army National Guard, the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion, and his fellow Soldiers. And he failed to lead by example. Shameful.

SB…I get running for Congress, and it sounds like he technically did nothing wrong. But ethics are another matter. Based on this I would question his integrity. Same for these guys who wrote this…they waited ten years, and then got paid to complain about Walz. Not a good look about any of them.

Armand…I think it's never a good sign when this kind of group gets going. They are symbolic of things coming apart. But I think there are still not that many radicals like this overall.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2024 5:45 a.m. PST

Tort what was the point of complaining about him when he wasn't running?

I suggest reading about Walz and his DWI. You have to get by the poof pieces. (That will not be easy on Google and DuckDuckGo). Money to groups that support Hamas, via Minnesota tax money. His views and trips to China.

If you have issues, I have many links I can list. 😉

But again, I have nothing on your candidate Ike. The MSM treats him like he's dead or something. 😉

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2024 9:33 a.m. PST

You know … like sometimes you see in the movies or even in real life. You do not want your unit to deploy without you. They are your comrades, brothers, etc. Of course, it was an NG unit, not active duty. So that may be something to consider ?

Thomas Behrends, Command Sergeant Major (Retired)

Paul Herr, Command Sergeant Major (Retired)

However, these two real CSMs' comments post by 35th says it all IMO …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2024 9:58 a.m. PST

I get your point 35th, it's a good one. I had never heard of this guy until two weeks ago, but I don't like some of what I am hearing. As I keep saying, both sides have big personal integrity issues. I wish Trump would not bring up MOH recipients in the context he did. I am with Gen. Kelly on this.

I agree with Legion, this was a matter of personal integrity. But sometimes, you also let someone go for the personal reasons, though I am not saying this happened here. Why did the CSMs get paid to write this? It kind of undermines a little of their integrity too…… Not trusting anything from anybody running at this point. I have my write-in. Hold on…Ike is dead? But I talk to him every day!! 😵‍💫

SBminisguy20 Aug 2024 10:21 a.m. PST

Same for these guys who wrote this…they waited ten years, and then got paid to complain about Walz. Not a good look about any of them.

As far as I can tell they didn't get paid to write this, the CSMs paid to have their letter published as an ad. It was too late to do anything about Walz' Congressional run, but they raised this when when Walz ran for Governor.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2024 4:08 p.m. PST

But sometimes, you also let someone go for the personal reasons, though I am not saying this happened here
Sometimes a service member gets a hardship discharge. But those are very rare. And the circumstances are pretty clear to qualify.

Yes, it did not happen here. Senior NCOs, e.g. MSGs & 1SGs /E-8s & SGMs & CSM/E-9s are pretty much very well-seasoned, experienced, well trained, etc., etc. They know the deal. They been around the block more than a few times. It's usually never their first rodeo. In most cases they run the daily goings on in the Company/Battery/Bn/Bde. I was fortunate to have a very good SFC/E-7 as my 1SG. I don't know how Walz really was regarded in the ranks. The troopers usually know.

Hold on…Ike is dead? But I talk to him every day!! 😵‍💫
So do I, no big deal. But you can't have both he and any German Field Marshal in same the room.

And yes, I don't think these CSMs were paid. At that senior of an NCO rank they usually do understand integrity, honor, duty, etc. Sometime most Officers understood too. However, I usually don't see too much of that in many politicians, some civilians, etc.

In the Army, people's caution about putting anything critical in writing is extreme. I've seen OERs on guys who would never see the next rank that basically said, "he's a fine officer." Short of child molestation, faint praise is about as bad as it gets in writing (to your face, of course, it's often something else entirely).

The fact that the two men who presumably worked more closely with him than anyone else (his commander and the next senior NCO) were willing to overcome that cultural presumption to put this in writing is pretty damning. The fact that this is coming out of a Guard battalion, where people often stay together for years and sometimes decades on end, makes it even more surprising.

Armand lived through the Dirty War in Argentina, I'm sure he doesn't need to be told how bad societal conflict can get.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP20 Aug 2024 8:46 p.m. PST

So obviously this guy's service record is not as he portrays it.

To be clear Armand, I was commenting on the article you posted on US militia groups, what their existence might portend for the US, and my opinion on their current status in this country. I should have spelled this out.

Well this is interesting -- Saddiq Khan, the Leftist mayor of London just openly admitting to ELECTION INTERFERENCE in US Elections -- and that Democrat have been openly accepting FOREIGN INFLUENCERS to help win?!?! In a recent interview he said:

On the US presidential election, Starmer and the Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, have remained studiously neutral in recent months. But Khan shows no such reserve. "I've been so impressed with Tim Walz. It just shows the judgement that Kamala Harris has in relation to her choice for vice-president. Compare and contrast that with the choice made by the other guy, in JD Vance.

"It's obvious what my politics are. I'm a member of the Labour Party – we're a social democratic party. I want the Democrats to win." He added: "It's no secret many Labour Party members go and volunteer for the Democrats during presidential elections. We shouldn't pretend otherwise. Many of my staffers helped all three: Obama, Clinton and Biden."

Yep, and a little "creativeness" may get the point across to whoever is reading the OER. They may be looking for key words and phrases. But like many I'm sure I P.O'd one or two of my raters at one time or another.

USSS failed on all counts.

Secret Service Didn't Take First Shot At Trump Shooter: Bombshell Report

…A preliminary report from Rep. Clay Higgins (R-Louisiana) differed from information previously shared by the FBI shared publicly two months prior. The previous report claimed that Crooks was shot in the head by a Secret Service sniper within seconds from opening fire at Trump, however, Higgins' report claims a local SWAR operator was responsible for incapacitating the shooting.

Higgins claimed the officer's shot "hit Crooks' rifle and fragged his face/neck/right shoulder area from the (gun) stock breaking up," which prohibited him from continuing shooting, before the shot that ultimately killed him. The new report was shared weeks after Higgins had also revealed that Crooks' body was cremated with approval from the FBI 10 days after the incident took place.

Another Assassination Attempt on Trump's Life!

Donald Trump is safe after a shooting at his Florida golf course Sunday, and officials believe an armed person was trying to target the former president, according to sources briefed on the matter.

Secret Service agents fired at the suspect, multiple sources said. A local sheriff's office says it has taken a person into custody after the gunfire at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

Strange choice of weapon for a shot that was presumably 200+ yards (I am assuming it's the traditional Soviet-made AK-47 chambered for the short 7.62mm rounds the Soviets used). Even if it's well made (and they often weren't), the round lacks stopping power and accuracy at longer ranges, which seems like the kind of shot you would be trying to make on a golf course.

What I thought I heard was that the suspect was waiting on the next hole from the one that Trump was playing. The advance Secret Service agent who goes ahead of Trump on every hole saw the rifle poke through the bushes and began shooting. The guy left his gear and ran, jumped in his car and drove off . But a citizen took a picture of the car and sent it to the Sherriff's, who then put the plate through the highway tracking system. They saw the car and stopped him.

All good questions SB. It's possible that he had been stalking for a while and saw a pattern. He does not look like much of a conspiracy theory candidate, seems too well exposed on social media. Eccentric nut job more likely, but maybe he was playing a role.

Given Trump's profile as a polarizing figure, he needs a much larger security detail. And he cannot just turn it off for a day and play a round of golf like nothing else is going on. Every step needs to be assessed beforehand and given more planning.

Nah, something happened to him in a short time period, he went from what seemed to be pro-Republican at age 14-15 to some reports that he was a ranting Lefty by the time of his assassination attempt.

But here's the REAL mystery -- WHY is this a mystery?? The FBI can track down a grandma who turned *slightly* towards the cameras as she stood in the Jan 6 crowd outside the Capitol building, and charge her with obstruction, trespass and the like -- but they can't tell us more about the man who tried to kill a former President?!?

Oh, current CNN media report says the Trump golf outing was not planned, it was spontaneous. So HOW did the shooter know Trump was going golfing, and HOW did he know which of THREE golf courses to stalk for his ambush??

Thought this might be AI, but is not, based on neighbor interview I saw independently of the article.

Routh said he voted for Trump before, but now:

"Ryan Wesley Routh, the man named as the suspect in a possible assassination attempt at Donald Trump's Florida golf club, urged Iran to kill the former president in a book he self-published last year.

In 'Ukraine's Unwinnable War,' he said he had made a terrible mistake in once voting for Trump, whom he described as a 'buffoon'

'I must take part of the blame for the retarded child we elected for our next president that ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize,' he said, after berating the former president for abandoning the nuclear deal with Tehran.

'You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the deal."

Ryan Routh has Biden Harris bumper sticker.

link

The guy was a criminal and a nut job, easily influenced. IMO he had the GoPro so he could film the assassination and become a hero to the anti-Trump faction….. unless there is really a conspiracy to kill Trump. 🤔

SB you are 100% correct on the first attempt. They can grab some buddy walking in front of the Capital on the 6th and imprison them, but can't crack the encrypted calls on the assassin's phone? To quote: "Come on man!".

If Trump gets assassinated, what would be left? What happens to a cult if it loses its guru?

Not a cult -- he's the face for a broad anti-Establishment popularlist movement as tens of millions of Americans feel the country has been captured by an amoral grifter class that screwing us all over, and is desperate to maintain its hold on power. If Trump were to be assassinated the movement will accelerate since all of the allegations against the Establishment will be solidified as being willing to do and say anything to keep its power and privilege -- including kill. And if the Establishment keeps using violence, at some point it will result in responding violence which would be awful for the country.

SBminisguy16 Sep 2024 10:34 a.m. PST

What is the main point here? Are the Dems are responsible for this guy's actions?

YES. They have been calling Trump and opposition to their rule Nazis, threats to democracy, dangers to America, Hitlers, Facists, Authoritarians, racist and all the gargae for ALMOST A DECADE. AND Democrats and celebrities calling for violence and even calling for his death. Here's a two-minute montage: link

Even now after a second assassination attempt, Democrats and even Democrats running for office revel in the violence -- ex LTC Vindman's wife, who us supporting his brother's campaign for Congress tweeted out she basically wished Trump had been killed.

LAST WEEK Harris blasted Trump during the debate as a threat to America, a danger to democracy!

You cannot promote political violence for a decade and then act surprised when a crazy person snaps and tries to kill your political opponents and then pretend you had nothing to do with it. ALL of the political violence in America is coming from the Left and the Democrats. They need to stop.
