I doubt the cartels are in fear because of Trump. Breitbart does not have embedded reporters down there, I am guessing. Or any reporters. So we don't know, but Trump has cleared the remaining refugees from the Border, it seems. This is killing News Nation, they still report every day on a Crisis there.

In any case, a good result. But the cartels will not go away except via direct action, I think.

Tort must you always doubt? All ye of little faith! 😉

I heard the same news on TV about the cartels.

"Trump Threats and Mexico's Crackdown Hit Mexican Cartel
Several cartel operatives said that for the first time in years, they genuinely feared arrest or death at the hands of the authorities.

One cartel leader says he's trying to figure out how to protect his family in case the American military strikes inside Mexico. Another says he's already gone into hiding, rarely leaving his home. Two young men who produce fentanyl for the cartel say they have shut down all their drug labs.

A barrage of arrests, drug seizures and lab busts by the Mexican authorities in recent months has struck the behemoth Sinaloa Cartel, according to Mexican officials and interviews with six cartel operatives, forcing at least some of its leaders to scale back on fentanyl production in Sinaloa state, their stronghold."

I have given Trump credit for the border, have I not? 👍It is his best work so far. And I accept your documentation on the cartels…time will tell, but I hope they continue to fear.

The stock market is not so good, as you know. The GDP is expected to go negative this quarter, inflation is returning, and the Trump Trade War is starting, the impact of which has freaked business. Expect even higher prices for food.
China has retaliated, and Trump may have to bail out our farmers like last time as their markets take hits and costs rise.

Oil production is not really relevant, Chevron has been enjoying record profits and sells US oil on the global market. We get a lot of oil from Canada, electricity too, we may regret going after them. Expect higher gas prices.

JPMorgan earned those profits under Biden. Nothing yet to report for Trump.Biden brought in the CHIP makers with a huge bill, not Trump. The Japanese began their military buildup while Biden was president. They have already launched new ships, deployed new aircraft. No credit for Trump here.

Don't jump the gun on Kumbaya…😉More time needed.

Wow is all I can say.. I keep hearing how petty Trump is, well catch Biden. I've seen this 3 times separately today.

"Barry Wilmore seemed to suggest he and his crewmate Sunita Williams had been caught up in political games in Washington.

SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk, whose spaceflight company was tasked with bringing Williams and Wilmore home later this month, has repeatedly said the Biden administration 'abandoned' them for 'political reasons.'

Barry Wilmore seemed to suggest he and his crewmate Sunita Williams had been caught up in political games in Washington.

SpaceX Chief Executive Elon Musk, whose spaceflight company was tasked with bringing Williams and Wilmore home later this month, has repeatedly said the Biden administration 'abandoned' them for 'political reasons.'

Musk has also said that former president Joe Biden rejected his offer to bring the astronauts home early because it would've made Donald Trump and his supporters 'look good.'

During a Tuesday press conference, Williams and Wilmore were asked if the Biden administration did in fact decline Musk's offer to bring them home early, to which Wilmore replied that Musk's claim 'is absolutely factual.'

'I can only say that Mr Musk, what he says, is absolutely factual,' Wilmore said, noting he and Williams were not briefed on what happened behind closed doors. So I believe him. I don't know all those details, and I don't think any of us really can give you the answer that maybe that you would be hoping for,' he added.

The astronaut then gushed over Trump and Musk, saying 'we have the utmost respect for them.' "

Well, I think they should have gotten them sooner and that's on Biden – unless he could have given a good reason why.

I don't think Musk is truthful, and I have my doubts about gushing for Trump. Neither astronaut knows what was said. It may be that Trump wanted the credit for bringing them home. He and Musk have been taking a little too much credit for things done before they arrived, as I said in my last post. Even Trump supporters know he is not particularly truthful as a POTUS.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP06 Mar 2025 1:51 p.m. PST

Tort, Musk provided Starlink free of charge to those in the South after the floods and to California after the fire. I believe he furnished free information to the Ukraine until recently.

Why wouldn't I believe he offered this?

The Border is under control. Mass deportations are in effect. Massive amounts of Billions of US taxpayer $ being wasted on items that has nothing to do many of these agencies. Headed by unelected officials. Is ending …

DEI, CRT, woke progressivism, etc. is no longer allowed in Federal agencies.

The Federal gov't has stated there are only two sexes … That should not have been even in question.

The Feds/GOP are still fighting to get biological males out of female sports …

That is a good enough list off the top of my head …

Can a similar list of successes be made for the former POTUS. VP, Dems, etc. ? Who had 4 years to do something right … [Hypothetical question] … Don't waste your or our time …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP06 Mar 2025 8:44 p.m. PST

35th, he may have offered. All I said was that I'm don't find him truthful. I really doubt that Biden wanted to deliberately trap our own people up there for the fun of it so he turned Musk down.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP07 Mar 2025 6:34 a.m. PST

Trump also has a list of things that are not going so well for him. He has had some early success on the border…but we are still waiting on other things. A lot of vets are being laid off. The stock market, his favorite stat, is tanking over the yo yo tariff news.

If the tariffs keep getting delayed like this, doesn't the threat appear less important to other countries?

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP07 Mar 2025 7:51 a.m. PST

Yes he's been in office just over month and he hasn't accomplished everything. This administration is a total failure. 😞

Oh wait! My gas went down to 2.27 this morning!

Tort, come back to me when the next congressional election comes around. 🙂

That border you mentioned, he did in 3 weeks, what the last administration couldn't do in 4 years.

You might find this interesting, (happened last night), or not. But it cost the taxpayers nothing.

The new POTUS and his admin have a lot of work cleaning up the total mess that the Biden Admin. et al left the USA in.

Trump and his admin have only been there less than 2 months … You can't clean up a mess at this level of destruction overnight. It took Biden et al. 4 years to make the total disaster that Trump was left with.

Give it time …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP07 Mar 2025 12:05 p.m. PST

Legion and 35th – I think I have given Trump more credit than most of his haters have, and I have also said that he needs more time. I don't like him as a person, but I am glad to see some things getting done. His election and approaching rule surely intimidated thousands of would be illegals.

But maybe he should stop taking credit and telling us how great everything is after 2 months also. Some things are not going well so far. My modest 401K is taking a hit, but I am glad he cut back on the Trade War for now.

Ukraine is really getting hammered lately by Putin, and Zelensky has no help or intel from the US. Maybe Putin saw the weakness in the Trump approach, sees him as a partner who will not act. Putin will evade any sanctions as usual. This is a worry.

If we are really doing America First, we can't keep telling people we will come in and rebuild and invest either in Ukraine or Gaza. Very expensive, US taxpayers will pay, which leaves out people like Bezos, Musk, and Trump, who pay no taxes and could all make money. No POTUS should be talking about building resorts.

Trump needs to look at the economy. The tariffs could kill us. Food prices have increased, creeping inflation will begin with the loss of thousands of illegals underpinning the labor needs of business no longer available here. Repubs have looked the other way on this for years. Now what?

Biden was not good, nor was the Dem candidate, but they did not create a total mess – much of that was political warfare posturing from Repubs. We recovered from the pandemic better than anyone. But we have a bunch of issues that have been coming anyway and now need to be fixed.

The one issue that Trump will never resolve – national unity.

"Biden was not good, nor was the Dem candidate, but they did not create a total mess – much of that was political warfare posturing from Repubs. We recovered from the pandemic better than anyone. But we have a bunch of issues that have been coming anyway and now need to be fixed."

I guess it is one's perspective. I thought the last 4 years some of the worst of my life. But I've expressed that before. The more I hear about how much of the previous potus dementia, was covered up, just makes it worse. But as you do not like the current President, I felt the same about the previous potus and the potus he was VP for. And felt the later was single handedly responsible for much of the divisions today.

The one issue that Trump will never resolve – national unity.

And again, I believe the "first black president" was very much responsible for that. He fomented division for political power. Some may disagree, but that is what I believe. The previous Potus did the same with division of groups.

As far as Ukraine, Potus did address it today. But how much sanctions will do, well we've seen that.

The threat of sanctions is pretty weak from a guy who told us he could end the war in 24 hours….but this is what I meant..he should stop all the posturing and just stop talking!!! For a month, a week…just stop… Tell us your achievements when you have achieved them. Apparently Musk was taken down a notch, maybe this will help everyone in the cabinet focus while they still have staff.

I am not making Trump responsible for our divisions, although he exploited them perfectly. We have been divided for much of our history. I am saying Trump cannot fix it.

Tort, you have brought up before Biden's touting new chip manufacturing in the US. One was to be outside Columbus Ohio. So thought I'd check on progress so far. I believe it was said to be open by 2025, but I knew that had not happened. I know they have already received billions of taxpayers dollars and incentives.

Now it is delayed again until 2031.
I hope Potus chip manufacturers build quicker, so Taiwan is not such a concern and we become self sufficient.

Subject: Intel again pushes back expected opening for semiconductor plant in central Ohio

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP08 Mar 2025 1:08 p.m. PST

This bill still is playing out but has had a tough start…every project was subject to federal evironmental approvals that sometimes take years. The plant in Arizona is nearly done but was hampered by lack of skilled labor and came under attack from unions when they tried to bring in Taiwan's tech people.

The biggest issue is the lack of a labor force that can do this work. We no longer have enough people with the right skills. Somebody should have seen this…

Eventually we should be fairly self sufficient in chip manufacturing, but it will take as long as ten years. Trump wants to use tariffs in this sector but tariffs already failed in Europe. Our lead in this area began to slip in the early 2000s. This was one of the only bi-partisan supported bills to pass in the last decade.
I hope it survives…the cost is small compared to what it will take to defend Taiwan so we can keep getting our chips from them. Some of the disruption during the pandemic was caused by the shortage of chips

There are going to be a lot of protests, but as an independent centrist I would never support the destruction of property, public or personal. And again, somebody is going to get hurt. If you have something to say, take the high road.

There is an organized effort on the right to shift more authority to the President, weaken the judiciary, intimidate Congress, IMO. This is the major topic of this new era, not burning Teslas which is both illegal and dangerous. And it does nothing to point out whether Trump and Musk are going much further than their predecessors. They have layed a thick smoke screen with talk about Canadian and Greenland.

1) Has the border been all but closed? Without having to have Congress pass the bill Biden demanded in order to do it.
2) Violent criminals have been sent back and Trump got the governments of other countries to take many others back. The worst, Trump got to incarcerated in El Salvador, at a much reduced cost than incarcerating in the US.
3) the border fence has been restarted.
4) both Canada and Mexico have been forced to tighten their borders down and spend additional money.

Now liberal federal judges in liberal jurisdictions are stopping or hindering the good work.

In other words, they are standing in the way of what the majority voted for and want. Actually coming down on the side of violent criminals being kept in the US at the expense and possible lives of US citizens. To my way of thinking, much more worthy of condemnation.

I think for 60 days and with the amount of liberal federal judge challenges (15 so far), he has accomplished a great deal.

That does not include the vast majority of the medias, constant 24 hour a day negative coverage.

Yes border closed and Trump has only been in office only about 2 months. DHS, ICE, etc. is cleaning up the real criminals first. But as noted some in case judges, Blue cities, Dems, etc. are getting into the way.

That being said, it will take a long time to round up and deport the millions that Biden and the Dems let in. To do things any faster you'd need a couple of USAF transport wings. And a couple Bns of US troops. Plus more LEOs …

Like I said I was an US Army Air Assault Bn's Air Ops Officer. It would take not just more assets to deport the millions of illegal aliens. But more time than 2 months … more like few years. And you still could not get them all.

Thanks to Biden & the Dems, etc., 20 million illegal aliens will take a long time to clean up. If it is even possible.
Plus would probably take more than 4 years Also the Biden Admin broke the law with their open border policy. And no one was punished but the tens of thousands of Americans that died from murder, drugs, etc. that came with these millions of illegal aliens. A lot of blood on Biden, the Dems, Soros, etc. hands …

Federal judge denies Trump admin's effort to ban transgender people from military
Yeah saw that on the news too. There are many reasons that Transgender don't need to be in the military. But that is another complete story. And I'm sure our enemies are not afraid of Trannies in uniforms. Part of deterrence is having your enemies fear you.

And what fool, whatever position in Gov't they hold ? Don't get you can't tell a military unit to stop what they are doing and come back. What a bunch of pompous Bleeped texts. They have no authority over the legal orders of the CinC …

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP27 Mar 2025 9:55 a.m. PST

Legion of course I agree, but the opposition (MSM and Democrats) disagree. It will take a Supreme Court decision.

I guarantee you, if these same things had been challenged in a conservative District Court, as opposed to the liberal District Court of Washington DC and elsewhere. This decision would've been totally different. But that is why they challenge them in the liberal jurisdictions. Even though the supposed incident is not in their areas.

All you have to do is look at the amount of challenges by President, and you can see which side has used this as a primary weapon.

I tried to discuss with people who said that I'm not voting for either candidate, that it really didn't matter. I always brought up the fact that whoever won, appointed the judges. So it does matter.
