Among the most stunning revelations from a White House list of questionable spending was nearly $10 USD million USAIDspent on meals that went to al Qaeda-funded terrorist groups. Then there was the roughly $75 USD million USAID spent on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in foreign countries. Some of those recipients of taxpayer dollars included: $16.8 USD million to support equitable outcomes in inclusion in Vietnam. $8.3 USD million for "equity and inclusion" education. $7.9 USD million to teach Sri Lankan journalists to avoid "binary-gender language." $6.3 USD million to study men having sex with other men in South Africa. $6 USD million to advance LGBTQ principles in "priority countries around the world." $5.5 USD million to promote LGBTQ causes in Uganda. $3.9 USD million to promote LGBTQ causes in Western Balkans. $2.5 USD million to promote inclusion in Vietnam. $2 USD million for sex changes and LBGTQ "activism" and sex changes in Guatemala. $1.5 USD million to advance "diversity, equity and inclusion" in Serbian workplaces. USAID also spent millions to promote transgenderism through various media outlets including using $47,000 USD of taxpayer funds to produce a transgender opera in Colombia, $32,000 USD for a transgender opera in Columbia, $70,000 USD for a "DEI-themed musical" in Ireland and $2 USD million for a "transgender comic book in Peru." In addition to DEI initiatives, USAIDspent millions to promote media outlets in other countries: $20 USD million to produce an Iraqi version of Sesame Street. $8 USD million to buy subscriptions to Politico Pro. $2.1 USD million to the British Broadcasting System to "strengthen the media ecosystem in Libya." $1.3 USD million for Arab and Jewish photographers. $1.5 USD million to rebuild the Cuban "media ecosystem." USAID also has a $150 USD billion climate strategy aimed at building "an equitable world with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions" by 2030. However, it is unclear how much of that money was spent. Also included on the list was $6 USD million approved by USAID to promote tourism in Egypt, a move that was authorized by the first Trump administration. |

I totally agree with your findings. That is truly wasted money. But along with that I wish someone would post the moneys that did go to feed people and provide medical care as was the purpose of USAID. That was happening too. |

OVI + 1 That list is only the tip of the iceberg. And I'm betting you'd never see that list on most of the News Channels or media outlets. Those individuals who did this or let this happen should be in front of Congress. To answer for this improper use of tax payer $. USD And probably demoted or fired. E.g. USAID, FEMA etc. violated what their organizations were supposed to do. Why those agencies, etc. were formed. Now where in any of their mission statements does it include giving $ in any amount to foreign nations that have to do with DEI, LGBTQ, Climate Change, illegal aliens in the US, etc. The previous Admin broke the law and ignored the Constitution, etc. The Congress also disregarded their duty. When everyone including the World and our enemies saw. The previous POTUS was unfit to remain as POTUS. He clearly was suffering from old age, infirmity, some form of dementia/senility, etc. His VP was unfit because of plain incompetence. She was a good example of a DEI higher. I am not a cult of personality fan. We all know his past, predilections, etc. However, he actually is doing what he said he was going to do. And he has only been in office about a month. He and his admin successfully shutdown our borders from an invasion of millions of illegal aliens. Many of which don't qualify for asylum. Were used as cover/diversion by the drug runner, sex traffickers/human slavers, hardened criminals, terrorists, foreign agents/operatives, etc., etc. And also started mass deportations of many of the most hardened illegal alien criminals. Some who have raped and killed American citizens. An invasion that was sanctioned and supported by the previous POTUS, VP, the Democratic Party, very wealthy woke progressive socialists, NOGs, etc., etc. IF the new POTUS and his admin only just kept the borders totally under control and continued deportations for the next 4 years. That would be totally the best thing that could have happened to the US. Regardless of all the other problems that were caused/left by the past POTUS, Admin and many in Congress … |

35th, that is my problem with using executive orders. They are not laws. The next president in, if a Democrat, can simply end them and then do his EO's. Thus, I don't see all this "winning" that the right keeps cheering about. You want to win then get the Republican controlled Congress to start passing laws. Otherwise, all this can disappear, poof, in a few years. |
Tortorella | 20 Feb 2025 12:37 p.m. PST |
Also, there is far less accountability. Trumps poll numbers are starting to slip. Congress has disappeared, too afraid Musk will primary them as he says he will if they oppose anything. The "investigations" are not following best practices. They had already decided what they were going to find, so they have to back it up. It doesn't work that way, and it can destroy credibility, which is very much needed on this. Poor judgement in assuming that everyone would be cheering. People are still worried about the economy, and that is driven by continuing high prices and fear of the tariffs. |

How can anyone know in that short of time who is doing a good job and who isn't? What is important and what can be cut. This whole walk into a department and throw a grenade approach I don't think is wise and we will come to have regrets. We cut the waste and find the mismanagement but it doesn't have to be this fast. I am concerned by the cuts in defense and the CIA and air traffic controllers. 1. Don't know what the cuts in Defense are, nothing announced yet. BUT we know that DoD has admitted to not knowing where hundreds of billions of $$ were spent. Every wasted $$ threatens the lives of our troops and our security. 2. CIA is totally corrupt, partisan and inept in its large operations – like the failed Wagner Coup attempt against Putin. Dissolve it, build a new non-partisan agency with clearly defined roles and limits. 3. No Air Traffic Controllers have been fired, and as mentioned those fired were in some sort of administrative function not a critical safety function. |

"Paybacks to taxpayers bad. Reparations good." 😂 Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has been accused of hypocrisy for dismissing the idea of distributing $5,000 USD DOGE checks to Americans when she has previously favored some form of reparation payments. Elon Musk, who runs the Department of Government Efficiency, recently showed support for issuing DOGE dividends to taxpayers made up of the $55 USD billion the unofficial agency claims to have saved from cutting government waste. James Fishback, the CEO of investment firm Azoria, was the first to pitch the idea of giving 20 percent of all DOGE savings to Americans. He said if Musk is able to reach his stated goal of cutting $2 USD trillion in federal spending, each of the roughly 79 million American taxpayers could be given a $5,000 USD check. On Wednesday, President Donald Trump said he was considering using 20 percent of the money recovered from DOGE to give directly to Americans, while an additional 20 percent could go toward paying the $36 USD trillion national debt. With Trump's potential endorsement of this plan, Crockett, 43, was asked whether she thinks redistributing DOGE savings is a good idea. 'What they're going to do is say, 'Hey, we want to give you a refund, but Congress won't let us because they already know that there's just no money for that,'' the Texas Democrat said. 'We are not in the business of giving out money, and honestly, I don't know what $5,000 USD will do for you if you are unable to find a job because I am telling people, we are headed towards a recession,' she added. Crockett also deflected by suggesting Trump had little to do with the $1,200 USD COVID-19 stimulus checks that were part of the CARES Act, a bill Trump signed into law on March 27, 2020. Crockett's comments sparked outrage on social media, with right-wing internet personality Nick Sortor pointing out on X that she has 'spent YEARS demanding 'reparations'' for descendants of American slaves." |

Doesn't the military do the same. I think getting them away from Washington DC is a good idea. Too long in that cesspool is not good for someone. Look at Congress. 😉 "Patel orders major redeployment of FBI agents Ken Dilanian and Michael Kosnar FBI Director Kash Patel is ordering a major redeployment of personnel, sending 1,000 FBI agents from headquarters in Washington, D.C., to various field offices, three current and two former FBI officials briefed on the matter told NBC News. He also ordered another 500 agents at headquarters to go to the bureau's facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The reallocation isn't without precedent: When he became director in 1993, Louis Freeh ordered a number of supervisory agents at headquarters into the field. And many at the FBI can do their jobs from anywhere. That said, the redeployment is likely to cause turmoil for families, as spouses have to leave jobs and their children are pulled out of school. It's unclear exactly how long those affected will have to make their moves, the redeployment is happening soon, sources said." |

NYT is no friend, I agree, but they have trained reporters and journalists whose core info is often right. In this case I don't know.
