Legion, as I asked SB, is it a coincidence that Putin's new missile offensive began days after he talked to Trump and Musk? Any thoughts?

Legion, as I asked SB, is it a coincidence that Putin's new missile offensive began days after he talked to Trump and Musk? Any thoughts?

I don't see them as related. Putin has conducted many drone and missile "offensives" before, so why is this any different?

"Legion, as I asked SB, is it a coincidence that Putin's new missile offensive began days after he talked to Trump and Musk? Any thoughts?"

I know you asked Legion, but I have a thought. Could this be Joe Biden being vindictive and hoping to make the chances of Trump getting a negotiated peace that much harder? Actually I doubt it was Joes decision anyway and that makes it even more likely to be a hinderence move by the current administration.

SBminisguy18 Nov 2024 11:21 a.m. PST

35thOVI+1 -- ya mean just like the Democrats' sustained RussiaGate hoax attacks on Trump and their creation of Russia as an existential threat to attack a domestic political foe screwed by detente efforts and led to Russia allying with China?

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP18 Nov 2024 2:04 p.m. PST

Yes I don't see them related. Putin knows Biden's weakness will be replaced by a leader of strength. Putin is not stupid; he sees what we all see/saw. I think this missile offensive was more for Russia's population to see. As these attacks have occurred before and will again most likely.

Joes decision
Those words say it all. As has been said before, by others. He has not made a correct geopolitical or military decision in his 50 years in DC and now the WH …

Sigh…as Armand would say. This was no small scale launch. My thought is that Putin just wanted to make sure Trump was still Trump. Who knows what he thought of Musk.

You can't keep telling people Biden is not with us and then claim he is carrying out plots.

There is apparently a school of thought in Russia that Russia and China are having a laugh and waiting for us to continue our own self destruction and ultimate collapse. This from a Russian journalist today…

I generally agree with this as you may recall, although Trump is only one of many and does not deserve the end of the world reputation he has with a lot of Americans.. He is the People's Billionaire for now. But the internal threats are not from one side or the other. The elites are killing the goose that laid the golden egg, apolitical at the top.

The cheapest and easiest way to beat America is to interfere in our media and find some dupes to promote division. We have never figured out how to get democracy running well enough to last, IMO.

SBminisguy19 Nov 2024 10:51 a.m. PST

My thought is that Putin just wanted to make sure Trump was still Trump.

Last time Putin tested Trump, he got x300 dead Russians and a streamlined Wagner org chart.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP19 Nov 2024 12:58 p.m. PST

Clearly that kind of loss means nothing to Putin. Syria resumed air strikes almost immediately.

Now Helsinki…there was a win for Putin. Trump blamed his own intel agencies and exonerated Putin. One more internal discord issue, embraced by right and left in America, to help take us down.

Sounds more and more like the deep staters. I don't think Joe knows much more than he is told and where to sign.

Putin, Xi, Iran, etc. knows not to test Trump and his admin. For all the bad things some say about him, and yes, he is no angel. He will not play soft ball with our enemies. He knows how to deal with the likes of Putin, Xi and Un.

Iran also knows if Trump puts 1 or 2 CVN groups off their coast/in the region. And additional USAF assets in the area. He is not bluffing … The USN & USAF could do a lot damage to Iran's military. Sending a bunch of IRGC to paradise and turning much of their equipment into burning metal and plastic.

And Trump won't send billions of $ to the Ayatollah and his crew. Which reports make it clear a good deal of that went to Hamas's war with Isreal. As well as giving weapons & $ to Hezbollah and the Houthis … Plus probably to their quest for deployable nukes.

Who would have been out of touch with reality enough to give Iran billions ? No … wait … never mind …

They all will find out there is a new Sheriff in town. And he's pack'n …

SBminisguy20 Nov 2024 9:36 a.m. PST

Clearly that kind of loss means nothing to Putin. Syria resumed air strikes almost immediately.

Did Syria resume attacks on US FOBs? NO. Did Putin pull any sh1te in Ukraine? NO. Did he militarily aggress against any other neighbors? NO.

So it worked. On the other hand the Biden team has set the world on fire and their weakness and ineptitude has lead to two major wars that threaten to bring all of us to nuclear annihilation. And the attitude expressed by European and Obama-Biden officials is just bizarre.

Where did all the Democrat and Leftist "peacemakers" go? Where's the Code Pink peace rallies and the MoveOn demonstrations for peace? Where's the Greenpeace protests decrying the environmental destruction caused in Ukraine by the war?

Absent. It was all bullshat designed to use moral posturing to attack the other political side -- but since this is THEIR WAR it's a GOOD WAR and there's no marching. Just cries to whip the warhorses harder -- we won't be intimidated by Putin! In it to Win it!

Win WHAT exactly? What's the end goal? What is the outcome you think you're going to get by constant escalation?

The war was a mistake. Putin knew that very early on, and tried to get out of Ukraine – within weeks he was in negotiations via Israel and Turkey that would have ended it. BIDEN KILLED THE PEACE DEAL. Other attempts since have also been quashed by the US and Europe.

Why? This war is not only impacting Europe, but has killed hundreds of thousands of people in Africa via famine. What, how could that be? Well, turns out the countries in Africa experiencing the worst famines imported up to 70% of their wheat from Ukraine and Russia. They also imported most of their fertilizers for domestic farming as well. So this has placed, depending on which source you use (Oxfam, etc) upwards of 80 million people at critical famine risk, British Red Cross says it's more like 140 million. Oxfam claims one person dies every 48 seconds from Famine in Africa.

This food disruption has also exacerbated security, leading to more wars and internal conflicts in Africa.

But let's not be "intimidated by Putin!"

Get real.

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP20 Nov 2024 10:50 a.m. PST

I think it is still the case that Iran never got its billions back as the escalating war negated any deal.

Two things I have not changed my mind about. Sending American aid in large quantities to the Iranian border just before the war would have been used by Putin as provocation to invade and made the U.S. look like the aggressor, making it harder to get unity against Putin around the world.

And Putin's mass murder of hundreds of zip-tied Ukrainian civilians in Bucha destroyed any chance for a peace process. How this keeps up ending as Biden's fault is just not reality for me and I cannot agree.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP20 Nov 2024 7:51 p.m. PST

And Putin's mass murder of hundreds of zip-tied Ukrainian civilians in Bucha destroyed any chance for a peace process. How this keeps up ending as Biden's fault is just not reality for me and I cannot agree.
As I and others have said many times. It didn't long for our enemies to see the current admin did not have right stuff. The A'stan debacle just emboldened our enemies. And convince them the USA is in weak hands. With very poor priorities. Or Putin wouldn't have attacked Ukraine. He then saw how the WH was dragging its feet supplying Ukraine with what it needed to actually push the Russians off their lands.

The US leadership was too busy stressing things like DEI, CRT, pronouns, Trans issues, boys on girls' teams, the not even half-baked Green Agenda, etc., etc. The enemy watches TV news too. As well as have agents everywhere.

So IMO a lot of Biden and his admin have some blood on their hands. If for no other reason they slow walked what Ukraine needed. Too little … too late.

The US dead and wounded in A'stan … the US admin has blood on their hands. Because they failed to listen to the US military and intel advisors … Not to mention all the A'stan dead and wounded.

The Biden's open border policy has let millions of illegal aliens come into the US. Many bringing Chinese supplied drugs to the cartels. Resulting in thousands of US deaths. As well all those Americans who were raped, murder, etc. by the criminals that got thru. Because of the Biden catch & release policy.

More blood on his, Harris and the Dems hands …

wo things I have not changed my mind about. Sending American aid in large quantities to the Iranian border just before the war would have been used by Putin as provocation to invade and made the U.S. look like the aggressor, making it harder to get unity against Putin around the world.
You mean Ukraine not Iran. And again I disagree, if the US while watching the massive build up on Ukraine's border. Started to push large amounts of support to Ukraine then. It probably would have at least made Putin think twice or not attack at all.

If they did attack, Ukraine with more US equipment etc. would have cost the Russians more losses much sooner. "Escalate to de-escalate" … But Biden, Blinken etc. must have missed that day in tactics class … Oh … wait … never mind …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP21 Nov 2024 2:49 a.m. PST

Yes! Ukraine! I am getting to old to keep my countries straight. Maybe Ishould run for President!

I certainly respect your opinion on this Legion and you make a serious point. It could be that Putinmight have backed down, but if Biden was seen as so weak, maybe not. With hindsight, I think Putin would not have cared enough to reconsider.

I wanted the whole world against Putin as a greedy aggressor and for a time we had that unity. But we failed to make the choice to win. Again, with hindsight, was more military aid in Ukraine early on a trigger for nukes? I don't believe so.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP21 Nov 2024 6:41 a.m. PST

I can agree, more and better equipment early on, would have cost the Russians many more casualties. It would have also cost the west more monetarily and depleted our own troops.

But in the end, do you believe Putin and the Russian people who support him (which is obviously necessary), would have stopped his aggression in the Ukraine? If so, why?

Do you believe the Ukrainians could have driven the Russians out and kept them from regrouping and coming right back in? If so, how?

Do you believe other than a stalemate, this will end any differently for the Ukraine?

I believe a stalemate is the best outcome that is available to the Ukraine. But I believed the Russian military was better than they were (got to stop reading what the "experts" tell me), and thought the Russians would win easily. I've been impressed by the Ukrainians fighting. But a stalemate and loss of some more land (unfortunately) is the best they will be able to accomplish. There are just so many militarily fit Ukrainians to fight and die, and there are many more Russians and allies available to fight and die. From Putin's perspective, only "someone else's children dying), not his. 😔

SBminisguy21 Nov 2024 7:33 a.m. PST

Well that didn't happen. But what DID happen is that Putin very quickly realized he'd screwed up, and wanted out. He entered direct peace talks with Ukraine, facilitated by Israel and Turkey -- and the Biden Admin KILLED the peace and ESCALATED the war.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP21 Nov 2024 8:04 a.m. PST

We who supported Trump and other Republicans were told we were wrong to doubt the results of the 2020 election.

Of course there was the obvious, the lies of the DOJ (Hunter Biden laptop, Russian disinformation, etc.). There was the left's domination of social media and the blackballing of voices opposed to the lefts views, (thank God for Musk and X this time).

But we also had the "mail in ballots), new because of Covid. The drop boxes (where there is footage of individuals dropping off hands full of ballots). There was the lead that disappeared over night when bags of mail in ballots would show up in the late hours(in the blue cities of key swing states) and no observers present, or forced to sit 6 to 10 feet away ( due to Covid). Swinging the "key" swing states blue. But all circumstantial.

So what do we have this year? Well we had democrats fight tooth and nail to stop any tightening of voting laws in key swing states. Fighting doing away with mail in ballots, even though they were placed in "only for Covid". Then when many of those efforts failed…, we have them openly admitting to cheating:

"We all know that precedent by a court doesn't matter anymore in this country and people violate laws any time they want," Ellis-Marseglia said in a clip that has since gone viral on social media. "So for me, if I violate this law, it's because I want a court to pay attention to it. There is nothing more important than counting votes."

You know this is NOT an aberration. Just one stupid enough to be caught on camera and in a state that is having a recount on a key Senate seat and a very key swing state.

Now of course she does not understand why she is being targeted. She was misinterpreted! She meant provisional ballots not mailing ballots. Sure right! 🙄

Crocodile tears.

Add to this the fiasco of Almost every state still counting votes! Over 2 weeks after elections! California saying they will not be done until after Thanksgiving!!??? Totally unacceptable!!

As to California and probably others. Stupid voting laws that allow things like the below. Nancy Pelosi‘s daughter, still out there to "CURE ballots"!!

"Nancy Pelosi's daughter said she was 'curing' ballots in a California congressional district where the Republican candidate saw his lead drop by hundreds of votes in recent days.

Christine Pelosi, one of the former House speaker's four daughters, posted a video Tuesday saying she was traveling to the Golden State's 13th congressional district, where the race between Republican John Duarte and Democrat Adam Gray has tightened.

'My life, my love is curing ballots with my friends, I can't wait to get on the road the again,' the 58-year-old is heard singing to the tune of Willie Nelson's classic.

Duarte leads Gray by just 227 votes, down from nearly 2,000 on Monday.

The race could prove crucial to Republicans' ability expand their majority in the House, after already managing to flip the Senate.

Ballot 'curing' refers to the process of allowing voters the chance to fix minor errors with their mail-in ballots to avoid them being discarded.

These can include voters failing to sign their ballots or enter voter ID information.

California is one of eight states that sends vote-by-mail ballots to all registered voters. "

Over 2 weeks after the election and for people who could not even fill out and send their ballots correctly!!?? 🤬

Subject: Nancy Pelosi's daughter posts bizarre video saying she was in California district to 'CURE ballots'… as Republican candidate's lead tumbles

But yes we are supposed to believe everything in 2020 was on the up and up!

"Nothing to see here folks, move along"

Also in spite of things like Tammany Hall, The Chicago voting machine of the Kennedy era, the Phil Philadelphia voting machine, etc. of the past.

Does this upset me? Well let me see………….🤔

He#l yes!! This should upset anyone who wants to trust in elections.

We need to make it mandatory to show proof of citizenship to register.
We should make a photo Id with address mandatory to vote.
We should do away with "mail in ballots". Don't confuse these with absentee ballots, not the same. There are Controls on absentee ballots. They don't go out to anybody on the voter roles to vote, dead or not.
No drop boxes!
No going back to "fix ballots" for those with the inability to do it right.
No accepting ballots days and days after the election, if they are not dated prior to, or on Election Day.

You are looking for things that can lead to Civil War. Well lack of faith in the validity of elections is high on that list.

SBminisguy21 Nov 2024 8:38 a.m. PST

35thOVI +1 !!

Here in Cali, lifelong native Californian who has seen the shift from Red to Blue after Gov Jerry Brown authorized Public Employee Unions, it's harder to get a library card than to vote.

At the polling station (the few that are left since they have shut most of them down to force you to vote by mail-in ballot) it is illegal for them to even mention the word "ID." They mail ballots to everybody with any kind of address -- I know folks who have gotten ballots for prior tenants from years past, and ANYONE can fill it out (oh, I was "assisting") and ballot harvesting is legal -- I can bundle as many ballots as I can to a drop box. There's NO CHAIN OF CUSTODY needed on the ballot, signature verification not required. And what "Curing" means is that DEMOCRATS votes that have fallen outside the broad margin for error -- like no signature, are fixed so they can be counted…it is not a neutral process.

On the other hand, when I wanted to renew my library card I had to go IN PERSON and present TWO forms of ID to a librarian -- a valid State-issued photo ID and a recent utility bill. I asked why so strict, the librarian said it was to make sure that I was a resident of the local community and wouldn't abuse library privileges…

Civil war was only really an issue if Trump lost somehow. There will be a real transition and life will go on this time. There is plenty of convincing evidence that 2020 was legit. Of course there were a few dodgy issues with hundreds of millions of voters.

But I believe the overwhelming sources from both parties who stopped the steal.Conspiracy theories lost.I will not be anywhere near as likely to believe the Repubs version of elections going forward. Not because I oppose their ideas, which are solid in many cases. But because more than any other group, I cannot trust them. There are way too many reasons to bring up here. We should just move on,I think. They won, it's over, no sense fighting the same people who already are down for the count. You don't hear Harris planning to send her own electors to DC.

35thOVI Supporting Member of TMP21 Nov 2024 10:05 a.m. PST

SB I bow to your expertise on California. You make a much better argument about what is wrong there with elections… and elsewhere then I can, as you are there first hand. Thanks.

No state is past 99%

They are fighting tooth and nail for that Senate seat in Pennsylvania and 4 congressional seats. If the election is over.. concede… right? Why count "hanging chads", or try and openly cheat as in PA?

Sorry Tort, I just don't buy their proof in most cases. Too much evidence ignored by judges who refused to hear the cases. Then again, there is the proven of the laptop, collusion, social media, etc. where the media, government agencies and politicians, purposely lied to us before that election.

As you have said, there are too many deep staters in both parties in Washington, to trust them and who care about nothing but their own self interests.

As far as nothing happening this time…🤔

Well we have already had two assassination attempts. We have multiple blue state Governors and blue state mayors openly stating they will defy the new administration and will not aid them in deporting "illegal aliens". Advocating citizens go into the streets to oppose deportations. A few seeming to hope for a "Kent State" moment. The MSM is already portraying the illegals as victims and the "women and children" will be most affected. 😱 Yet nothing has happened so far..

…well except for an illegal alien being found guilty of raping and beating a young Georgia woman to death with a rock. (If anyone has not heard her 911 call, you should really listen. Gut wrenching as she fights for her life and slowly is raped and dies). He shows no remorse and worse, gets a life sentence with no parole. We, the taxpayers will be forced to support his sorry 🫏, until he dies. We were already paying for him to stay in NY and then "we" paid for his flight to Georgia! He had been detained and released 2 times since he came in, in 2022! He also committed crimes.

Is our lettuce being picked and the Rich's lawns being mowed, worth her death?! The death of so many other citizens of this country, at the hands of illegals? These citizens of our country killed, robbed, maimed and raped by these illegals, are the true "victims" and not the illegals who will be deported.

Don't let the MSM and politicians confuse you as to who the real victims are.

OH! And January is not here yet.

Now to add to my above:

"The Biden administration is loosening some key immigration restrictions ahead of President-elect Trump's second term, opening the door for thousands more illegal immigrants to enter the country.

Trump has indicated that he could declare a national emergency and use military assets to carry out mass deportations. The Biden administration, however, is taking steps to make Trump's plans for the border more difficult. The Biden Department of Homeland Security is launching an ICE Portal app in December that will allow migrants to skip their in-person check-ins at an ICE office and instead check in with immigration officials via an app on a phone or computer, according to reporting by The New York Post.

The app reportedly has severe glitching issues and does not track a migrant's location if he or she is using an Android phone or laptop.

Further, the app does not check migrants for past arrests or outstanding warrants and allows them to opt out of or contest government orders to undergo electronic tracking.

The New York Post reported that up to 100,000 migrants will be enrolled in the new program's first wave.

This comes after the Biden administration set the record for the highest number of illegal migrants entering the country in a single year in 2023, with 3.2 million entries. This surpassed the previous record of 2.7 million set the year before."

….

"Meanwhile, Congressman Mike Lawler, a Republican who represents the suburban New York District 17, told Fox News Digital that the administration's decision to further loosen restrictions immediately after the murder trial of Laken Reilly's killer "defies logic and all common sense.""

Anything to make Trump's job harder to do what has to be done. Then some Blue state mayors, governors, etc. are not going to let ICE, etc. do their job tracking down and arresting illegal aliens. Which is breaking the law. They just don't get it … because Trump wants to do it, they will not comply.

It has been made clear, the first to be rounded up are the known criminals and any other criminals they find. Plus, ICE, etc. will be interrogating these criminals to try to find the thousands of the missing illegal alien children.

I guess the Blue leaders don't think it is a good idea to deport criminals and find lost children ?

Really not much like civil war still. A movie? It was interesting but just a movie. There are no big demonstrations that I know of, and if there were, that's okay. What laws were broken?

Which Dems have threatened civil war? I am overseas, I could have missed something…

Trump is the president. He is not universally popular, half the country doesn't want him. His favorability rating may never hit much more than 50%. But he is the president. Reagan was shot, but nobody talked about civil war. We have to let this stuff go, in my opinion, The left lost, they are not screaming about fraud on the scale of the right in 2020. They are not in control of any of the three branches of government. They do not follow a single leader.

The right needs to take a break from blaming and just start leading and fixing things. And live with the criticism when it happens. Biden did. Do a better job as has been endlessly promised. I would be very happy to see the border fixed, for example.
Go for it! Do a fair and honest job…many will be grateful.

As I said earlier, the mainstream medias tactic will now be, to portray the illegal aliens in this country, as victims. As the deportations start, it will be more so. They will especially center on "women and children". They have had no thought or concerns for the 100s of thousands illegal children currently lost to the system. Now the war will be to discredit Trump and his deportations.

Never lose site of the fact, that we are the victims. It is the US citizens who have been killed, maimed, robbed and rapped by individuals who are "illegally" here. It is our tax money putting them in hotels, paying for transportation, giving them benefits, paying for hospitals, prisons and schooling their children.

Our people did not need to die. It is not our responsibility to pay for them.

Come here legally!!

Even if they had committed only a small portion of crimes, it is still crimes that should never have happened!!

If it is ok, I dare you to go to Laken Riley's family and tell them it's ok for them to be here illegally.

Fixing the border and deporting are going to be difficult, when governors and mayors of blue states and cities, have vowed to help "protect" those illegally here and stop any deportation attempts.

Red state Governors tried to protect their citizens from the crimes of illegals, but the blue staters want to protect the "illegal". Really does not make sense.. at least to me.

Subject: Soros-backed prosecutor under fire for Laken Riley killer death penalty decision | Fox News

Another Soros backed prosecutor, is why we will have to pay for the upkeep of the murderer of Laken.

FYI, he was also a member of "Tren de Aragua". A name most of us had never heard before, until the last 4 years.

Fortunately she has not been re-elected.

"I do not support the death penalty. It is cruel & in humane," Gonzalez said in a Sept. 23, 2020, post on X. "As DA of #athensga I will not seek it in any prosecution. The eye for an eye argument does not make our community whole. Restorative justice does that."

He should be charged as an accessory to murder, not just for Reilly. But all the Americans dead because of his Anti-America actions.

"There are thousands of migrant criminals roaming the streets of Gotham, the head of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's NYC field office told The Post.

"In New York City, it would take a lifetime to clear the city of the criminals that we have" if the status quo remains the same, Kenneth Genalo said Friday in his first interview since Donald Trump was elected president."

AND

"Of the nearly 7.8 million illegal immigrants in the United States, 662,586 are convicted felons or havecriminal charges pending, the agency said of data through July 21."

Most of us believe it is far more than 7.8 million.

There is plenty of conflicting data on the criminality of illegal immigrants. Most of us have no access to the info you would need to determine any figures on this. There is just no way to base a reasonable estimate.

Most of us made up our minds via media and politics. Complaining and blaming is not a plan. I want to know what will be done. The outrage points have been made over and over. Now there are promises to keep.

Tort to a point that is absolutely true, but for it to be successful, the MSM and opposing party and their rhetoric must be overcome. They will do and say anything to impede the illegal solution. They will play on your sympathies. They will tell you how much the economy needs these illegals and will fail without them. They will downplay, or ignore the crimes committed by illegals. They will fabricate. They will use the court systems to hinder the wall and everything else that is done.

They did all this before and they have already started again. All this I've been pointing out above, with examples.

Ice agents are feeling more secure and more information is dripping out.

We also have some blue state leaders even hoping for a "Tiananmen Square" event.

He tried walking this back today.

Shorter Tortorella: "when it's something I believe, here are the incontrovertible facts. When it's something you believe, none of us have the data to draw a conclusion."

Wash, rinse, repeat, and repeat, and repeat….ad nauseam.

Incontrovertible? I could have sworn I said "no access to the info you would need." I have been clear here that the I believe that size and scope of the problem is huge, poorly managed and impossible to quantify.

By all means, take me to school on the data. I said there was conflicting data, after looking at a Reuters report. I did not say one side was right or wrong.

Nine pound round24 Nov 2024 6:59 a.m. PST

I'm not that interested in doing research on your behalf.

soledad24 Nov 2024 8:00 a.m. PST

As an outsider I see it this way. Either you are legally allowed to be in a country or you are not. If you have a passport, a reason and fill out relevant forms and is accepted you are there legally.

If you do not your are there as an illegal person. And as such it is the country's right to throw you out. This for a very simple reason, you are not there legally!

The world is an unfair place. Just because you want to be somewhere (in the US for example) does not give you the right to be there or work there. Life is unfair and it is practiced every day.

Yes there are many reasons for being kind to illegals and most of them are decent hardworking people but like I said, life is unfair. Just because we want to be "kind" we cannot allow people to go and settle just like they want. The world with countries and borders does not "work" like that. Cruel and unfair? Maybe but that is the way it is?

Any politician who gives priority to illegals over his own people is not working for the best of his people.

If people are allowed to "roam free" where does it end? Why should "third world" people be allowed here to work when "we" are not allowed to their country to work? Just because "we" follow laws and regulations.

I would guess that most illegals are more or less law abiding and hard working people but if there is no work the threshold to crime is lower. And lots of illegals bring with them criminals who wants to profit of the illegal workers by extortion or such. So lots of (illegal) immigrants mean a higher rate of crime, that is just the way it is.

If you are illegaly in a country and has no work and more or less begin to starve and someone gives you some money for doing "X" I'm pretty sure you would do it. If you want to survive that is, and most people want to survive.

You mean on your behalf, Nine. No problem.

35th, I think there is broad consensus, despite some nonsense on the radical left – a lot of people are here illegally, border is not secure, and most Americans want it fixed. it's way past time to secure the border and restore some system and order there. You can always find some different beliefs, but the polls say this is what most of us want. How that gets done is more interesting to me going forward than looking back at the mess Biden made of this.

It has been made clear by new ICE Director :

1) The priority for deportation are criminals

2) Sanctuary cities and states, if their Governors, Mayors, etc. interfere with ICE doing their job. These politicians will be charged with adding and abetting criminals. Will be arrested.

3) The military will assist with transport, security, etc. for ICE, etc. going after illegal aliens. The military will not be making raids, etc.

4) ICE, etc. when tracking down these criminals they will try to find the thousands of unaccompanied minors that came across the border. Now just disappeared …

Tortorella Supporting Member of TMP25 Nov 2024 2:37 a.m. PST

Yes, some are violent criminals. But some are not. My experience is that these people are experts at hiding and networking. They do not want to be found and deported. The only crime most of them commit is illegal entry. As the NYPD have said, they don't make trouble, so they won't get caught. But that does not mean that it's okay.

They know they can ease into the lower level jobs Americans don't fill without employers checking them. I haven't heard much about how we will deal with this aspect of the problem.

SB that figure includes 15 months of Trump's term and refers to the failure of ICE to deliver court summonses, also people not responding to a summons. Many, if not most, of these people are actively in hiding including with parents, relatives, communities of the same national origins.

So yes they are missing and will be very hard to locate with so many being let in. The cost to deport all of them is likely in the hundreds of billions. They are missing because they are good at becoming missing and get help from employers. This is a big part of the challenge.

There is no point in going through the policies and numbers on deportation of criminals by Obama, Trump, Biden. You are not going to buy it, I would guess. But Biden's lack of attention to the problem was especially detrimental because of the explosion of migrants from the neighboring failed states.

35th…Safe haven surrenders of infants are on the rise in the US and may continue post Roe. They can be anonymous. It's legal, all 50 states have laws now, but pretty hard to cope with when it happens. Among other things, some firehouses actually have baby boxes for drop off, like a book drop in a library. Sad….
