I finally started my Barbarossa campaign using the old GDW bathtub campaign booklet, Barbarossa 25, and homebrew rules for the ground battles.

Thus far, all of the battles have been in 6mm, though some will be with 15mm figs in time. Below, German infantry advance against Soviet positions during the latest battle.

I'v just started the border crossing attacks and have three blog posts thus far.

The first, AAR 1, is a summary of the early morning air attacks:

Next is AAR 2 the first border crossing in Lithuania:

And the most recent is AAR 3, also a crossing into Lithuania:

I've also created an "Operation Barbarossa Page" listing links to all of the battles at:

Thanks for looking, hope it might be of some interest.

Color me jealous. I've always thought this campaign and the GDW Ardennes campaign would be a blast. Glad to see someone playing and hope you continue to update us.

Very interesting!

Looks good too.

Keep us informed as the campaign continues to move ahead, ok?

Also, if this is a possibility, maybe save details of a few scenarios while you play through the campaign, that you think would be particularly good, as standalone single actions?

Yes, very interesting!

Great looking gaming table, nice miniatures, too. Cheers!

Many thanks for the replies.

It has been very interesting just getting to this point, as it is really a lot more ambitious in scpe, than any of my past campaigns.

I'll post links to the AARs on TMP as I play future battles. The idea about stand alone scenarios is interesting. I'll try to do that.

Thanks again,

I've owned that old GDW Barbarossa campaign book for ages but never tried a campaign. Very cool to find someone who is doing it. I will be following this with interest.

Thanks for you reports.
