Well after 40 years the time has finally arrived for me to go into semi retirement.
Its the end of an era.
WARFARE Last November was our last Trade show.
Many thanks to all the organisers and those of you that came along to see us over the years.

As of June 2025 we will cease production of our 6mm and 10mm ranges

As of 28 th January 2024 the 6mm and 10mm ranges will be closed to new customers.
This gives I hope ample time for existing customers to complete the projects they are working on.

To be fair to everyone each order is limited to a total value of £250.00 GBP and each
order will be completed in the order in which they were received.

The 20mm ranges will remain open to new customers I will continue the develop and continue production of the 20mm ranges.

All sounds fair.
More time to wander around castles, fields and countries?
I million pours left of the ladle.

Best of luck with semi-retirement Leon – I reached that point a couple of years ago and am now contenplating when to fully retire…

So 6mm and 10mm finishing today Leon?

End of an era.

Good luck and hope you enjoy your retirement Leon.

It's been great collecting your figures.

It was also great collecting SPI boardgames from Gamer in Sydney Street all those years ago.

That really was a long time ago 😊

All the best,

B

Good luck going forward. I hope you eventually find a buyer for those 6mm and 10mm lines, though. Sad to see good sculpts out of production.

Best wishes going forward and another hope that someone will take up the torch and continue making those marvelous 6mm figs – I am a huge fan and they are great sculpts

Congratulations on your well deserved retirement! My own lasted two months before I was back to work, but that was by choice and not necessity thankfully. Best wishes.

Good luck with your phased retirement

Leon, best of luck with your semi-retirement, and glad you're keeping the 20mm range going. I think you wish you start the 20mm range years ago as all your posts with them shows this is the range that is closest to your heart and what you enjoy painting.

Best wishes for your semi-retirement!

Thank you all for the kind comments.

BattlerBritain, ah yes waiting for the latest copy of S&T which would contain the errata sheet to enable you to play the game you bought in last months S&T lol

VonBlucher, I only started on the 20mm stuff when I was told Tony Barton was stopping work due to ill health and as there was stuff I wanted to get for myself. Got rather out of hand!

Hello Leon!

I still remember the first time I saw your figures. Outstanding sculps, world class figures! Turned the 6mm world upside down. Great to hear your moving on to retirement. They call them the golden years for a reason. I was fortunate enough to retire very early over 20 years ago. I love your phased out idea. Sort of like reaching out for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

All the best,

Glenn

Congratulations Leon. My wife and I still remember your kindness and hospitality when we dropped in on your establishment some 35 years ago on our "Grand Tour" of Great Britain. Thanks for all the beautiful figures and good service over the years. Best wishes for a happy semi and full retirement.

Sad news for 6mm scale wargamers. Adler offered great service and great miniatures, the best in my opinion. I have always preferred Adler's 6mm miniatures but due to age and eyesight problems, had recently considered selling my 6mm Napoleonic armies, buildings etc and go up a scale or two. I wish Adler did larger scale Napoleonic miniatures.

All the best Leon. Thanks for great service, value for money and all your help over the years.

Best 6mm ACW and Napoleonics.

Gazozola,
Thanks for the kind words.
Plenty of nice larger scale Napleonics out there, though 6mm still the best for Grand Tactical in my opinion.

Leon

Yes, I'm ploughing through them one by one. I will keep obtaining samples of different scales, base and paint them up until I find the ones that suit me all round. I did that with the 6mm scale miniatures, before finally settling on Adler.

cabin4clw31 Jan 2024 11:49 a.m. PST

I was thinking about buying some 6mm from him but I waited too long. The figures are incredible.

Leon,

Wishing you a wonderful retirement!!! I will now move on to preparing my 'legacy' order. :)

All the best!

Enjoy winding down Leon. I don't believe that many gamers understand just how many of their suppliers are reaching this stage in life.

@Fighting 15
Well its certainly true looking around at shows I'm not the only 'white beard' amongst the Traders, though reckon Im one of the oldest still standing lol ( just)
I shall miss the customers and the chats at the shows but certainly not shifting a ton of metal around and the 4 hr drives.

Best 6mm Napoleonic miniatures made in the business! Painted many and still have a decent stockpile left to go! Enjoy the retirement.

I started Napoleonics 6mm some 30 years ago with the likes of Hulon, our very own Emperor in Houston. I believe you were acquainted with him. It seems nuts to me now… painting an 1809 Austrian Armee Korps at 20:1! Best wishes Leon.

No chance of the lines being sold and kept in production by someone else?

LeonAdler Sponsoring Member of TMP11 Mar 2024 11:45 p.m. PST

@Mikemcf,
Ah Mon Empereur Hulon!
Had a terrific trip to Texas many years ago, wonderful people, terrific grub and astonishing games.

@YogiBearMinis, a tricky process but will try to sort something if we possibly can.

Thank You Leon Adler. I love them in their thousands! Also, my sincere apologies for never ordering that slew of Austrian Artillery until this year!
Best,
