It seems the Doctor and Ace played no actual part in the battle. Not so much as a sonic screwdriver blast to disable cyber-weapons. Does the Doctor have any particular capabilities to swing the odds? Jon Pertwee's Doctor in particular was a proactive, if not downright aggressive, character in the demise of his antagonists.
