I am new to Empire and Revolution and Empire and recently picked up copies of a few of the rulesets after spending a long time waiting for some to become available on places like eBay and Noble Knight. Everything is great and I am loving what I am reading (been looking for games like this for a long time); however, my copy of Revolution and Empire does not have any of the appendices. Is there a way to get my hand on these short of hoping I get lucky and a copy with them shows up again or am I just out of luck? Thanks in advance and I am excited for my first game soon. |

I got my copy of R&E from "On Military Matters". It included all the appendices. Still seems to be available. link |

Sorry, it didn't let me post for a little bit because I am a new member. Thanks for the link! I went ahead and ordered it. |

@chaoticparadigm, great. Let us know how you get on with R&E. I have had challenges understanding how the bits and pieces of R&E fit together. It's, as the say, same-same with respect to Empire (i.e., the same except where it's not). Usually I find the answer somewhere – e.g., a brief mention in a section far from where one might expect to find the answer. Thankfully, there is a sometimes useful index. |

Example – recovery from being disordered. I found the index entry for "disordered" where a sub-entry "removal" refers one to p.71. On that page a penultimate sentence of the paragraph for section 12.18 on "Advance Non Front-line units" reads, "Alternatively, any non-front line units may remove disorder if not still exposed to a disordering situation." Okay, I mistakenly thought front line units couldn't remove disorder. I failed to notice the index entry above "disordered" which was entitled "disorder" where a sub-entry "recovery" refers one to p.83 and section 14.14 "Disorder Recovery". Doh! One option is to use a "Commander Action". It is obtusely listed as a tactical Commander Action on p.67 where it reads, "Direct a Maneuver, Formation Change, or Re-order that does not sacrifice initiative." Oops. Time to read through the rules again and take notes. |

I'll definitely let y'all know how it goes. My first game is with another newbie to the rules in a week or so. Good to know the index is sometimes helpful. Just received it in the post today and will spend the weekend reading it. |

I will need far more than a weekend but enjoy. Myself I use a mix of Empire III & V plus R & E |
