I just watched an old cinema masterpiece of the same name. Cavalry, militia, women's temperance movement, liquor salesmen, striking teamsters, and of course Indians, all converging near the Platte River to acquire (or destroy) wagon loads of the elixir.

The scenarios are endless. Anyone else enjoy the story and cast as much as me?

I love log forts on a treeless desert. Indeed, I do.

It's a great movie.

On to the north fork of the South Platte River! Let's all move out while maintaining detached contact!

I haven't seen it in awhile but have fond memories of the fun.

Great film and the book is good too.

Martin Landau was great too. A role he played well. At the forefront without lines. I loved his expression as he danced hunched over behind Lee Remick. I always had a crush on her.

A fun show and I think it would make a good game in that you have several quite different factions, each with their own goals and capabilities.

You can see The Battle of Whiskey Flats as a convention game: train, striking teamsters, Denver Citizen's Militia, Temperance Marchers, and three elements each of cavalry and Indians.

That includes pretty much the full range of Western figures except for gunslingers and Mexican bandits, so if you hold a "Magnificent 7" game on the next table over…

Then, add the dust storm.

Quicksand. The game has got to include quicksand.

Pyrate Captain – You might want to check out the You Tube video of the 1978 debut single from Australian independent band the Go-Betweens: 'I Love Lee Remick'.

I will. Thanks.

"Quicksand. The game has got to include quicksand."

Whiskey Flats is the Friday game. Pyrate. Quicksand Bottom is Saturday, where the adjacent table is The Train Robbers--John Wayne, Ann Margaret and four friends vs all the outlaws you have miniatures for.
