I've posted Lind's troop of the 1st Life Guards in 1815.
Seasons' greetings and happy new year! Figures are all Victrix.

Very nice work indeed.

Your slightly out of focus foreground really gives the impression of movement.

Great stuff.

Fantastic photos and write up.
I knew just being on a horse can be dangerous

An investigation of your terrific blog is well recommended to all.

Fabulous work.

You are correct in that the French Dragoons were not involved at Quatre Bras as an oversight in the orders led to only the Cuirassiers being deployed on the 16th.

There are British references to dragoons but these are caused by the 11th Cuirassiers being primarily unarmoured and therefore looking similar.

Keep up the good work, it's inspirational.

Happy New Year.

Chris

Many thanks for the very kind and encouraging comments, everyone. They keep me going!

R.e. the out of focus photography, Chris – yes, that was a happy accident. There's a zoom out setting on my phone which, when you then zoom back in again during editing, seems to give that blurred impression of movement, which I really like.

As my eyesight (and thus painting skills) deteriorate, I've come to realise that the only solution is to take better photos!

Thanks again, all, and happy new year!

That's very cool!

That ground level photo is intimidating. I'd hate to see that coming at me, then again…

Last Friday after work, I would've embraced the thought of being stampeded by a squadron of Horse Guards.

Was not the term "Horse Guards" to be distinguished from Life Guards? Like Royal Horse Guards in Blue and First and Second Life Guards in Red. Or were they all collectively known as Horse Guards…as in Horse Guards' Parade to this day….and the little museum? Let us not mention KDG, who maybe were not Horse Guards, despite their title? Even then, were not the RHG the poor relations for many years?

Confusing? Naw…….

Nice work!

We're not the RHG known as the Cheesemongers because their fathers were all in trade?
