Most of the scenarios work very well. sometimes, if the scenario is from a period that firepower is dominant and you are using armies that dont have firepower, it may not work well.

If you double the number of units and add lots of extra terrain, the scenarios can take a bit longer than an hour. Ahem.

I think OHW is one of the great gifts to wargaming, just brilliant, endlessly customisable and a good commentary by the designer on the factors they chose to focus on in each period. Which makes it very easy to change to suit your own prejudices. Up there with Charles Grant's original books.
