I have updated my list of Pike & Shot era wargames rules on my blog here: link This update introduces 12 sets of rules to the list bringing the total to 67. There is a broad range of rules in this update, including old rules from the 60s and rules released in the last few months. There are rules for smaller skirmish games, as well as big battle games. There are even rules that include magic and demonic creatures! I am continually surprised that the list keeps expanding at the rate it does. Wargamers certainly seem to like rules and I look forward to seeing further sets in the future. If you know about a set that I haven't included then please let me know and I will add them in the next update. |

Dutchman, Spaniard, Switzer, Swede – I bought my set from Viking Forge a few years back – not sure if they still carry them. The Supplement to the rules is called God, King, Pulk and Orta – has optional and advanced rules, errata and army lists – PDF – not bound One other note – The "Reiter" Dec of 1991 originally published a DBR type set of rules based on the Ancients Set Thanks for maintaining a list of rules |

Great resource. I'm just about to enter this period. |

Renaissance Principles of War It is a long time since I played these so can't go into them in detail but I liked the few games I played but others found them too slow moving. Maximillian A DBA derivative but with enough differences to be very different to DBR. Not well written but some good ideas in them. Played a fair bit, added many house mods. DBA-HX DBA Humberside eXtension adding extra unit types from 1500-1700. Original based on ver 1 but later versions have extended to v2 & v3 in various forms. Fun with some flavour of the period without any great attempt at the details. Probably most versions available from the Fanaticus forum. |

Tercio by Magister Militum, units are units and operate as such, no fiddly bits. We toned down some of the Command Abilities but otherwise easy to learn and play |

@DisasterGAmer – thanks for the info on DSSS. Did The Reiter published rule set have a name and author? I will update the DSSS entry in the next update, and add an entry for the The Reiter rules. @FusilierDan – good luck Dan, lots to take a tilt at there. @GildasFacit – great info – thanks. I will add to the next update. @Yellow Admiral – great spot – will add those at the next update. @Anton Ryzbak – do you mean Tercios by Liber Militum? I couldn't see a ruleset called Tercio on the Magister Militum site, but I suppose they may have dropped them. |

Andy Callan is currently play testing the English Civil War version of his 'Never Mind the Bill Hooks' – provisionally named 'Never Mind the Matchlocks'. If you look on The NMTBH's Facebook page, you may still be able to get a copy of the rules for play testing. It will probably be available later this year as a free supplement with Wargames Illustrated Magazine. I've played a number of enjoyable games now and it uses the NMTBH's rules engine with some added spice for the period. |

Thanks for the info. @Arcane Steve . I will add in the next update. I was only yesterday wondering if NMTBH would port to ECW and was pondering on the name. I guessed "Never Mind The Wheelocks" 😆. |
