I notice newer KOW plastics have bare feet, not the little round base to slot in the hole in the base.

I guarantee this is to make milti basing easier. Rather than having to cut it off to stick them on a larger base.

This in itself (Multi basing, the Mantic way at least) is a bad idea.

However it seems not the only one.

It seems people (Mantic being one) just flip the bases rather than fill the hole, meaning the slope of the base edge is upside down. This is lazy and looks tacky.

The biggest blunder (orsuccess???) of this is that TOW players can simply glue them to new size bases. People who bought KOW figures can now jump ship even more easily.

Mantic figures were always WHFB proxies. It was later that rules were released. Mainly for optics if you ask me.

Yes.

But Twilight kin???

Perhaps another blunder?

Do you mean Dark Elves?

The H Man25 Dec 2023 2:49 p.m. PST

GW had/has dark elves.

Then Mantic had twilight kin that had metal upgrades for their elf sprues and has similar units to dark elves.

However, now the new twilight kin are completely different to dark elves. They have all female regular units with troll sized male units. And flying boats.

These new twilight kin are basically unusable as GW dark elves

People playing dark elves won't be buying twilight kin.

I must confess that I was excited for Twilight Kin until I saw the models. To weird for me I guess. I've still got four boxes of the old elves with the metal conversion bits.

Still, the idea of evil elves tied to the realms of nightmare is fun and different at least.

I think they are more based on dark Eldar from 40k. They have such vessels and monstrosities.

Dark elves had which elves, so it's also like, let's just use the infantry unit everyone wants.
