I passed on the Khurasan Early Renaissance Swiss recently because I heard from people here that they were fragile.

That being said does anyone have any experience with the Khurasan late 17th century line? Are they fragile as well? Do you like them? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I probably shouldn't be chipping in on this, and I only do so as nobody else has.

I can't say I know either way about the Swiss (different sculptor), but I think the Late 17th C figures are fairly robust. They were made from a preliminary set of cast dolls, and I didn't break any while sculpting the variants (and making variants i.e. drilling holes and so on probably stresses the figures more than painting or ordinary handling would). Swords and muskets are probably a bit oversized, and polearms are best made with wire; there are white metal halberds and so on, but the figures are open-handed if you want to replace those. I think they may come with white metal pikes, but that's because people complain if they come without them. Personally, I'd always use wire or brass rod.

I should be clear I don't have many of the finished figures, but the few I was sent seem pretty robust. Obviously, you have to take into account I am the designer, so take my view with a pinch of salt if you wish.

I have approximately 2,000 Late 17th Century Khurasan figures. I've never had one break. They do come with cast metal pikes, which bend don't break. As you can probably tell, I like mine a lot. They are among my favorite figures in any scale.

Thank you gentlemen.

Hello jeeves,

I don't have as many 15mm Khurasan Late 17th Century figures as dbf1676 mentioned, more like 400 or so, but I completely agree with him, the figures are well made, tough and detailed. Not a single one has broken. I also agree that they are among my favorites.

Cheers!
