And just a reminder to for those that 'know': the "most comprehensive", referenced, list of Civil War coat colours has been available at KeepYourPowderDry, since May 2020. Collated, researched, and with all secondary sources checked back to original primary documents by yours truly.

Many thanks for your efforts. Merry Christmas (now that Cromwell is gone) and a very happy and successful New Year!

KeepYourPowderDry22 Dec 2023 8:42 a.m. PST

Oh noes! Cromwell banned Christmas. 'Twas Parliament that banned Christmas, because the Puritans (who dominated Parliament) believed it to be wasteful and a sin, plus it was also a very useful tool at helping the Scots Presbyterians join forces with Parliament.

Thanks for for kind words S'nasty.

Correct, Cromwell was present in 1644 when the normal fast day on the last day of the month was prioritised over Christmas. Not the mover.
He was not allowed in Parliament when it was banned by them in 1647.

Keep up the great work and hopefully I'll see you in Worcester again in 2024.

Hopefully see you there.

I will of course arrive late, and skulk at the back
